Does President Trump Now Have the Authority to FIRE Government Employees? Going back it was very difficult to fire a Government employee. They were suspended, but not fired, exceptin rare cases. Which leads to the question, why is Peter Strzok and Lisa Page still employed by the FBI?
No. Civil Service laws are still in effect.
Why are they still employed? Can The People remove them if the government won’t?
Does President Trump Now Have the Authority to FIRE Government Employees?
Not sure, but he absolutely has the Authority to Transfer Anyone he wants to Puerto Rico.
Nope. You’d have to break the unions first. Do that, and a LOT of problems (including some deficit issues) go away over night.
No.
But can terminate exempt employees, for cause, and terminate their programs - positions in the budget.
According to our Attorney General, “They are all fine
upstanding employees at the FBI and the DOJ” Also Mr. Sessions has stated that there is no proof that any of them have committed any crimes that would warrant their removal.
In other words, as soon as higher level positions open up they will be promoted.
Page is already gone. Strozk was moved into basement HR for whatever reason.
Only the Congress can do that.....................
would you want someone like HRC or BHO to have the power to arbitrarily fire folks?
My late father-in-law and myself were civilian employees for the Air Force both at the same base. He once told me that you practically have to commit murder to be fired from there. In a nearly thirty year career, I can say that the gap between the number of employees that needed firing and the number I knew that were fired is a big one.
He certainly can fire political appointees. For others, he can’t directly fire them, but may be able to have them re-assigned, and/or maybe demoted. Not sure there.
I recall the Fraud firing the CEO of GM.

The rodeo clown also comes to mind.
No. But even if he did there are many things a President should NOT do even if he has the power to do them.
Tagline.
I believe he does....It was part of the Homeland Security Package after 9-11.
That should be a goal in his second term
Ditto that.
Page was a political appointee who was not covered by Civil Service laws. Strozk, on the other hand, is and firing him would be pretty difficult. Hence his demotions in the hopes he would resign.
