Jeff Sessions: Winner or Loser?

Posted on 02/08/2018 11:26:48 PM PST by KJC1

There is no monetary reward, of course.

But let's as FReepers place "bets". We can give each other Schiff later over who was wrong or right.

Some think he's napping, some think he's working behind the scenes.

So, if you'd like to participate, please do, and I hope I'm right but I vote for working behind the scenes.

"Trump would have cut Sessions loose a long time ago if he hadn't been threatened with impeachment by Republicans"

exactly. Which is why Sessons is going to turn this around. Many of you guys are forgetting the Bush's and that group have hated Trump just as much as Clinton

Sessions is a disaster. Robert Mueller’s fishing expedition would not even exist if Sessions had done the job he was hired to do instead of recusing himself.

Loser!

Just another good ole boy playing "go along get along" good ole Southern manners.

President Trump is many things, but he plays the hand he has been dealt and he knows how to play the long game.

Firing Sessions now would expend far more political capital than not.

The game being played is Tuesday November 6. Nothing else matters.

Democrats are aiming to wipe out President's Trump legislative support and we are talking about the Attorney General a winner or loser???? Hmmmmmm

Thinking the boys Nunes, Jordan, Gaetz, Grassley and others got this covered. A mighty fine job they are doing tying all this together.

Hey, its a fun question, but folks we need to focus on our focus.

Loser. If I recall, congress threaten Trump by saying if he fired Sessions they wouldn’t confirm anyone he picked to replace him. Sessions is free to nap and look the other way. Maybe oh, I don’t know, letting Lois lerner off the hook...

In the letter Sessions sent to the GOP lawmakers, he said the department did not make the decision to keep the Lerner investigation closed lightly but did so only after carefully studying the law in an “objective” manner and “giving the evidence utmost consideration. http://freebeacon.com/politics/gop-lawmakers-slam-sessions-deciding-not-prosecute-lois-lerner/

I think Sessions provided Trump legitimacy early on but neutered himself with his all too easily agreed to recusal on anything Russian. And he will re-emerge when the dust settles after the IG report is done. The only way this will be accepted, grudgingly, by the left is by hearing it from Horowitz, a fellow Democrat that is confronted by mountains of evidence that would be a huge lump if swept under the rug.

Maybe I'm a tad extreme, but the evidence I've seen and heard inclines me to believe that every associate level directer and up in the FBI and DOJ should be put on leave with no access to any work data or files until both entire departments can be audited by an independent counsel.

They are rotten to the core. Cannot be trusted. Working against the American people. Putting themselves ABOVE the American people.

So yeah, Count me as a napper.

TRUMP needs to drop MOAB on Congress.

Let’s see them try to impeach him after that.

So where are the indictments? Nunes and Grassley have already uncovered mountains of evidence for Sessions to work with.

Where are the indictments? I personally don't know, but I know it takes some time for these things to happen to get your ducks in a row so to speak. An indictment requires material presented before a Grand Jury, that Grand Jury decides if the accused person will be bound over for trial. Look, if we hit the summer with nothing, I'll have to agree with you. But this stuff doesn't happen overnight.

Sessions is working behind the scenes on the things he wants to do, and he is NOT working behind the scenes on the things most FReepers are looking for him to do.

First, Sessions is excellent on immigration issues. He has been pushing these hard.

Second, Sessions has pushed back very hard against District and Circuit Federal Judges who've tried to negate Trump's EO's. He's gotten the Supreme Court to expedite cases they would ordinarily deal with in their own sweet time, and he has signaled he's going to move ahead on a number of deportation and sanctuary cities issues as if the Federal Court rulings don't matter to him.

Third, Sessions war against MS13 and other illegal alien gangs is being forcefully pursued.

Fourth, Sessions is going to force the issue of marijuana legalization, and that is not a bad thing. Congress needs to vote to get the Federal government out of the enforcement issue and let individual states write their own laws. The current situation, where there is a Federal law governing the sale, distribution and use of marijuana and the DOJ simply looks the other way as states violate it is unacceptable.

With respect to the prosecutions of the seditious conspiracy at the top of the DOJ/FBI/CIA/NSC/State in the previous administration. Please don't kid yourselves: Sessions is doing nothing. He's waiting for the IG report, and when that comes out he is going to appoint one, maybe two, and possibly even three new special prosecutors, and he isn't going to go anywhere near it himself. He simply is NOT.

Finally I would say, with respect to all of these too-clever-by-half pipe dreams that Mueller is secretly working for Trump, Sessions is secretly working behind the scenes, Rosenstein is really a white hat. NO! It's BS. People saying this stuff are full of sh!t. Mueller is a swap demon. Sessions says he was recused so he's recused. Rosenstein is exactly what he appears to be: a career bureaucrat trying to save his phoney-baloney job and screwing anyone he has to in order to accomplish that.

Sessions is also doing the opposite of what Trump ran on during the campaign, that the states should be the ones who decides whether cannabis should be legal or not. A lot of people are really pissed at Trump for what Sessions is doing and it’s going to cost him a lot of votes. Then add the heavy handedness of Sessions going after the Bundy’s, - well it’s apparent that this guy is a traitor from top to bottom.

...he said no one in DOJ can testify to Congress without approval.

I saw that report yesterday, and it further solidified my conclusion that Sessions is owned and controlled by the deep state.

Can he appoint a special prosecutor? Evidence is there
If his recusal is blocking him than who can

I don’t believe anyone in the Executive Branch testifies to the Legislative Branch without permission.

Where the Executive objects, the practice has been to negotiate conditions between Congress and the White House.

Maybe Jeff Sessions is doing his job, and keeping quiet until the job is done right.

There is enough solid evidence of sedition and criminal activity within our government for Sessions to publicly rescind his recusal, but he has not done so.

You're buying into the far fetched idea that he's secretly 'working behind the scenes', despite the fact that he is on record as having recused himself from anything having to do with the 2016 election.

You expect him to spring the results of a secret investigation on the country, after he told Congress and the American people that he wouldn't touch it? Just how do you think that would play in the press and the courts?

I’m still voting for working behind the scenes.

If you've ever worked with attorneys, you know that nothing in law goes fast.

A videotaped murder can take three years to assemble a Grand Jury and get the indictment needed.

Sessons is going to turn this around.

Based upon what objective evidence?

OK. I think we’re done here as far as civil discourse.

A disgrace to the POTUS, standing behind a corrupt prosecutor in Nevada and undermining President Trump in Washington.

Lest we forget this was the scene last July.
