Probably the most famous of all the Pillsbury Bake Off recipes is the Tunnel of Fudge Cake', which was one of the winners in the 1966 contest. This cake also led to a boom in sales for the Nordic Ware Bundt pan, which then became the most popular and most-sold baking pan in the US.
(Ella Helfrichs cake was actually the second prize winner that year; the grand prize appears to have gone to Mari Petrellis Golden Gate Snack Bread, a savory cheese bread.)
The original recipe for Tunnel of Fudge used a packaged Double Dutch frosting mix which Pillsbury later discontinued, but here is the new recipe, using a cocoa powder glaze (a cake like this will only be as good as the cocoa used, so I'd be interested in hearing your brand suggestions for that ingredient):

Mmmm, I love the half sesame, half poppy. I can almost smell that loaf through the Internet.
If you like vanilla, a lot of recipes can be made with vanilla as the flavor, and possibly even vanilla baking disks (dont know if there are real ones). Does white chocolate agree with you? That might work if so.
Another substitute, if you can do coffee, is instant coffee powder (not grains of the beans) instead of cocoa, in some recipes. Think of tiramisu.
And of course you are getting lots of help with the carob.
Love that. That would have been the only way to keep my dad from meddling with the plumbing he was so sure he could automatically fix.
I for some reason dont like wasabi. Or horseradish. I only eat it when required at the Passover Seder.
Thanks Yaelle! Good suggestions! White chocolate unfortunately is off the list for me. OH yes! the coffee! I have done that in the past, but forgot! Also have used ROMA, a coffee sub in a carob cake brownie.
To add to my challenges, my doc has put me on the ketogenic approach. So can have cream and butter and good stuff like that, but must use lo carb flours like coconut and tapioca. Of course, stevia is my go-to sweetener. Legumes are mostly off the list, but can have minimal peanut butter. Nuts like pecans, macadamias are on my list.

One of us should really try the cheesecake without sugar (and without crust or a nut crust) to see if its yummy.
I think the key to keeping in ketosis will be for you to decide in advance each day which carb(s) you will get the MAX enjoyment from and save your carbs for that.
Also, ask your doctor, but I think if you exercise more in the day, you might get more carb allowance? And do not forget on packaged food or a foods nutritional analysis that you are allowed to subtract the fiber from your foods carb grams, for a net carb amount.

How did it taste? I’ve heard challah makes a great French toast and bread pudding if you have leftovers.
AVOCADO ARUGALA CRAB SALAD
DRESSING whisk 2 tb mirin, 1/2 tea wasabi paste, tb rice vinegar, droplets sesame oil, 1/2 tea
Maldon/kosher salt (spoon 4 tea into salad bowl). Now add to rest of Dressing minced chile, 1 1/4 c
crabmeat; fork/mix thoroughly.
FOR PRESENTATION Spoon 1/4 crab salad into a metal 1/3 cup measure, push down well.
DRESS GREENS Add tsp lime juice to 4 tsp wasabi dressing, then 5 c arugala leaves; toss/mix well.
ASSEMBLY plate dressed arugala on 4 plates; invert the molded crab over greens. W/ rounded half
teaspoon measure, scoop out curls of avocado and dot top of salad; spritz w/ lime juice. Sprinkle crab
w/ chopped chives.
SERVE w/ chilled bottle of rose.
And she can afford the stuff! I tried making her radicchio salad with one of her more exotic Italian lettuces. It sells for $11.00 a pound.
Yeah....she does go nuts for Italian products.
I dont use fresh yeast, just the dried granular type. Ive never seen the fresh stuff - I dont know exactly where it would be in the grocery store since it needs refrigerating.
It was surprisingly not sweet with that 1/4 cup of honey. But it went well with meatloaf because it wasnt sweet. They liked the seeds on top, so im glad the recipe mentioned it. I forget little touches like that, that are so simple yet really make the presentation special.
Chocolate-Chip Torte / Kahlua Cream
METHOD Beat 3 eggs, 3/4 c sugar light/fluffy 5 min. Stir in 2 c (42) Ritz cracker crumbs, 3/4 c sugar,
tsp vanilla, cup mini choc/chips, cup coarse-chp nuts. Blend well. Bake in lightly greased 9" pie plate
350 deg 30 min. Cool.
SERVE slices topped w/ large dollops Kahlua Cream.
KAHULA CREAM Sprinkle 1/2 tsp gelatin over cup h/cream; steep 2-3 min, then whip slightly
thickened. Add tbl ea conf, Kahlua; beat thick.

I wont pay the prices they want for it here, though. Thats one of the 4 things i miss about California - the produce! You cant beat the freshness and price of locally grown stuff.
So i planted some in September- and was thrilled to see how easily it grew! I just had the last of it a week ago. It lasted through several frosts. Next year ill get row covers and it might last until i can seed again.

As soon as i read your post, i ran off to make french toast out of it. Even hubby said it made good french toast and he rarely has anything nice to say.
The bread wasnt very sweet, inspite of having 1/4 cup honey in it. So i put some sugar and vanilla in the egg & milk mixture.

lol, thanks! i think next time ill mix the poppy and sesame seeds. i couldnt remember if hubby had to worry about random drug tests at this job, so wanted to keep the poppy seeds isolated. seems he doesnt, after almost 30 years - so its just a habit with me.

id be interested if you find that recipe. i have an over-abundance of bell peppers in the summer and a lack of imagination what to do with them.
i agree with JT that it sounds like chile rellenos, my fav too! id like to try it with bell peppers just because those are more handy
I love arugula too! I can eat a bowl full of it.
Easy to plant, grows like a weed. When its warm you must keep eating or at least cutting before the plants bolt. So you can have salads daily. Tastier before it bolts, that is for,sure, so get out there every evening and cut.
