Nigella makes this flavorful Crab Salad with a punched-up Japanese wasabi dressing.

AVOCADO ARUGALA CRAB SALAD

DRESSING whisk 2 tb mirin, 1/2 tea wasabi paste, tb rice vinegar, droplets sesame oil, 1/2 tea
Maldon/kosher salt (spoon 4 tea into salad bowl). Now add to rest of Dressing minced chile, 1 1/4 c
crabmeat; fork/mix thoroughly.

FOR PRESENTATION Spoon 1/4 crab salad into a metal 1/3 cup measure, push down well.

DRESS GREENS Add tsp lime juice to 4 tsp wasabi dressing, then 5 c arugala leaves; toss/mix well.

ASSEMBLY plate dressed arugala on 4 plates; invert the molded crab over greens. W/ rounded half
teaspoon measure, scoop out curls of avocado and dot top of salad; spritz w/ lime juice. Sprinkle crab
w/ chopped chives.

SERVE w/ chilled bottle of rose.

And she can afford the stuff! I tried making her radicchio salad with one of her more exotic Italian lettuces. It sells for $11.00 a pound.

I adore arugula!

I won’t pay the prices they want for it here, though. That’s one of the 4 things i miss about California - the produce! You can’t beat the freshness and price of locally grown stuff.

So i planted some in September- and was thrilled to see how easily it grew! I just had the last of it a week ago. It lasted through several frosts. Next year i’ll get row covers and it might last until i can seed again.
