Obama said many times he couldn’t unilaterally implement the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program because he wasn’t a “king.” Then he did it anyway.
And the process repeats itself, getting worse and more egregious each time. When I criticize Trump, the first response from countless Republicans is, “Oh yeah, why was it okay for Obama!?” If I point out it wasn’t and that I said as much, they switch gears to how we need a fighter who gets things done and doesn’t care about the “old rules.” ...
Yes, there is a cult of Trump. But that’s because we have a cult of the presidency in this country. It infects not just our understanding of the office, but of the person holding it. When Obama acted like a king — by his own definition — liberals cheered, because their loyalty was to the man, not the office. It’s getting worse with Trump, but this dynamic has been getting worse for decades. And I suspect it won’t improve much when he’s gone.

Describing the Democrats behavior as "Resistance" is too mild. We are dealing with outright sedition on the part of the partisan hacks that have been infesting the FBI and DoJ. The utter failure to recognize that Trump is fighting against an attempted soft coup is almost incomprehensible. But the #NeverTrump Republicans are just as bitter as the Libtards.

Goldberg almost stumbles over the truth here. I call it the Cruz Hypothesis. Suppose that The Donald had to bow out of the contest right before the election. Ted Cruz had the second highest delegate count. Does anyone think that nominating Ted Cruz would have inspired the FBI-DoJ cabal to not rig the Clinton E-mail fiasco? Would the Establishment been happy with President Cruz? Would Democrats cut him any slack?--or would we still have p*ssy-hat wearing harridans shreaking?

Jonah has a point. There is a personality cult around Trump. It shows in those who will defend the most left-wing position if it happens to be President Trump’s position. They’re the ones that he was talking about when he said he could shoot a man in the middle of Fifth Avenue and wouldn’t lose a vote.
Many Trump supporters, most Trump supporters are not of the cult. But some are.
