(Meredith) The owner of a Chick-Fil-A in North Dakota has apologized after a mother claims the restaurant kicked her out for breastfeeding without a cover.
Macy Hornung said she was nursing her child at a Fargo Chick-Fil-A when the franchise owner approached her Saturday evening. She said the owner asked her to cover up or leave the restaurant.
I was showing no more than the upper portion of my breast, barely more than what was visible in my shirt, and (she) asked me to cover, Hornung wrote on Facebook. I tried to explain that I couldnt because my baby refuses to be covered.
The mom said the owner also reminded her that men and children were dining at the restaurant.
I said they could practice the simple art of looking away She told me if I chose not cover, then she would have to ask me to leave, Hornung wrote.
Instead of complying with the owners request, Hornung decided to pack up her things and leave. Her husband, Casey Hornung, said he was outraged over the incident.
"I was angry for the words that woman spoke, he told WDAY-TV. I was angry at the way my wife was treated. I was worried about her, and how she was feeling.
The couple shared their story on Facebook when they returned home, and the post quickly went viral.
Hundreds of people who sided with the mom left bad reviews on the restaurants Facebook page and gave the location one-star ratings.

What a classy lady.
Topless in North Dakota in the middle of January, eh?
And you say she’s not some sort of activist deliberately trying to provoke a lawsuit against Chick Fil A?
Same odds she’s a SJW.
Uuugggh
Aint no one wanna watch that hugh manatee suckling its young while they’re eating
Lol!!!
“Sometimes I feel like the only woman in the world who thinks breastfeeding should be done behind closed doors.”
I have lots of very devout Catholic friends. Numerous times the moms among them (who have 7, 8, and 9 kids) have breastfed their children right in front of me and I didn’t even initially realize it was happening because they used a small blanket to cover up. There’s no reason why a mom cannot cover up. It’s not hard.
Thanks for what will probably be the best LOL all day!
What kind of man speaks like that?
And that's gross. Put some clothes on, lady.
I have nothing against moms breast feeding infants in public. I am a dad and I understand the need sometimes. But discretion should be the norm. At least try to be discreet and classy about it. Let’s not use your child to make a political statement, huh.
My wife and I were visiting the American History Museum in DC many years ago, when my first child was only about 6 months old. We were in the area and had taken a train to downtown. My wife needed to feed my daughter. So we sought out as secluded place in the museum as we could find. No joke, we ended up in a corner of the Black History section of the museum. There was nobody in there. My wife asked me, is it racist that we chose this room for privacy. I laughed and said. It’s not us. It’s all the other visitors that are apparently not interested in Black History. I suppose we are just taking advantage of their racism.
Nope. Her politicial sentiments outweighed her repugnance.
The only reason she was able to hold her snout long enough to be in a CFA was to pull a stunt to, in her damaged mind, bring shame to CFA.
That sorta backfired IMHO...
Chick-fil-A for lunch today for me!
“instead of complying with the owner’s request ”
She left.
So, she complied with the owner’s request.
OMG I missed the tats. Who in their right mind would do that to draw attention to those large unattractive breasts?
private property.
get out.
I think I’ll order a breast covered with a bun.
I just want to eat it, I don’t want it to stare at me while I’m eating!
You aren’t. I would cover if I were a young mother today. I would leave the room to nurse if we had company in our home when I was nursing, including my MIL, who was outraged that I did leave the room.
This young woman clearly lacks what I would consider to be average modesty, judging by the location of the tattoo. It fairly screams “Look at me!”
This incident smells staged.
I go to places I like to eat, not some place because the internet says to go or not to go. Especially if all these "ratings" can be manipulated for political or personal reasons. How reliable or credible is that?
And to the subject of the post, sounds like the mother and her husband are a little dramatic. He uses words like he's worried about how his wife "feels". That's a dog-whistle word for "she's a liberal".
As a matter of fact, she looks like one of Hillary's supporters I saw crying and lamenting Hillary's loss on TV after Trump won.
Personally, I have seen plenty of babies breast-fed in public (including my own children), this is much to do about nothing. Some people are offended by it. Most are not.
It's not the end of the world if a mothers has to feed the baby in public. But mothers also have a responsibility not to be rude themselves. Some people think it needs to be done in private. Some compromise is going to be necessary sometimes.
But what do I know? I'm a 70 year old white guy. The world hates white men nowadays.
Okay, after reading the comments, I had to go watch the video. That guy has a higher voice than the female reporter doing the story.
...I couldnt because my baby refuses to be covered.

What a load of nonsense. They will allow you to cover if you have done it from the beginning.
If I had been there, that disgusting tattoo would have grossed me out.
