You see a dog enter a restaurant with a vest that says "service dog." How do you, or the restaurant, know if the dog is actually a trained service dog? It's a problem that has prompted more than a dozen states to crack down on people trying to pass off their pet as a service animal. "They make me angry, they really do," said Colleen Belanger. Belanger has a service dog and she is upset people are using fake service dogs. She said it is a growing concern as more and more people are taking advantage of the system. Some dog owners buy service costumes online so they can take their untrained dogs into places they don't belong.

With ‘service dogs’, anything less than stellar behavior on their part is a dead giveaway.
“We have become such a pansy society, - - - - “
“- - - they consider a service dog one for emotional support.”
I agree with both statements. We have become a pansy society, the whole western world has.
But I do see where a service animal will help some illnesses, such as depression. However I also see where the dog goes should be limited to where ever any other dog can go. In other words, I can see no need for a service dog to be in a restaurant. “Seeing-eye” dogs excluded, they should be able to go any place.
About damn time!

Pit happens.
Possibly worse - snowflakes who THINK they have a disorder and need an animal with them at all times.

It makes it hard for people who do have and need service dogs.
They are an obnoxious nuisance.
True service dogs are well trained and very well behaved. Anything else is just a dog.
It’s worse than not honorable
True service dogs are being attacked and injured by these fakes. The fake service dogs are noisy and disruptive and some even pose A hygiene problem.
Frankly I dislike fake service animal owners. They are part of that entitled group who thinks they can do as they wish without regard to others. That attitude only works if you live as a hermit
Talk yo a wounded warrior who uses a service dog to help deal with PTSD......
How about epilepsy? Or any of a dozen other conditions that you can’t “tell” what the disability is?
Berbers are terrific dogs
Was in Scottsboro, alabama.
Some crap for brains there had her a comfort turkey.

Couldn’t service tags be issued by coordination between veterinarians and doctors?
I thought service dogs had training.
No, I have no idea how this works obviously. I know I wouldn’t want to eat in a restaurant next to this dog at the table!
Indeed - these fakers are criminal, but most people love dogs and respect dog owners. So, he has two advantages going for him which he abused. His only saving grace is his love for the dog. Wanting to have him close no matter what. And he found a sneaky way of making that possible.
