Sorry for your loss and prayers to you, your mom and all. Becoming a step mom was the greatest added bonus God blessed me with the day, long ago and treasured forever, when I practically raced down the aisle to marry my beloved husband and my new daughter. Your love for your added family bonus warms my heart!

Sincere sympathy for you.
We owe those men so much.
Before my father passed, I was fortunate to discuss his service with him and though he never talked about that with us, up to that point, I think he was glad I asked. God bless your father’s memory

Sorry for your loss.
My father was a radio operator during WW2 in the coast guard on PBY’s.
He never would say he was ‘in the war’, he only said the wounded they carried back to Hawaii were ‘in the war’.

Take extra special care of her. In the two years after my mom died, my Dad had several medical emergencies, which his doctor told us was common when a spouse dies. Often long-term marriages result in the other partner of the pair just kind of seeing no point, and co-deceasing within 2 years or so.
In my dad's case we were able to get him through those crises years with constant attention from his kids and grandkids.
Sorry for your loss.
