Remember we are currently in the Quaternary and the Quaternary Period is typically defined by the cyclic growth and decay of continental ice sheets associated with Milankovitch cycles and the associated climate and environmental changes that occurred.
Currently this is part 2 of the Quaternary call the Holocene. I love to ask “Warmies” if they think the Holocene has ended & why thy think that.
The Holocene so far seems to be a warm lull in the past behavior of the Quaternary. Ice sheets could come roaring back, mainly because that’s been past Quaternary behavior.
