Chelsea Clinton thanked first lady Melania Trump for preserving part of a damaged magnolia tree planted by former President Andrew Jackson.
Thank you to all the Chief Horticulturists and everyone from the National Park Service who have taken care of the beautiful grounds of the @WhiteHouse over the years, tweeted Clinton, who grew up in the White House during her father Bill Clinton's two terms in office. Thank you @FLOTUS for preserving part of a tree I & so many have treasured.

They are going NUTS over a 200 year old tree but tramping all over a 250 year old Constitution doesn’t bother them at all.
.
I can sleep knowing we have Ms. Hubbell’s approval
No wonder the fake news media is upset at Russia for putting out a handful of social network articles and calling it the biggest threat to our electorial process.
Frankly, the fake news on tv is far worse for it’s disinformation.
Not only that but they took the cuttings years ago.
“White House groundskeepers were prepared for the trees demise, however, and offshoots of the original Jackson magnolia have been growing nearby. They are around 8 to 10 feet tall and will be planted in the original trees place, according to CNN. “
I don’t know how fast Magnolias grow or how big the cuttings were but I doubt they got to 8-10 feet in the past year. So basically, Melania didn’t do the saving that Chelsea is thanking her for. Still as bright as ever that girl is.
FLOTUS had little to do with the preservation or the removal of that tree. 10 years ago The arborist in charge of the White House grounds determined that the tree was indeed in its final decade, and at that point seedlings were started from the Jackson Magnolia for future replacement.
The time has come and those seedlings are now small Magnolias that are 10 years old and one of those will be used to replace the Jackson Magnolia which was diagnosed a decade ago as being on the decline.
of course the original story out of Newsweek tried very hard to pin this natural disaster on FLOTUS and to ensure a negative press response Handlery left out the part about the decade all diagnosis and the fact that ceilings from the same tree we’re started a decade ago and are now ready for transplant.
so Chelsea like her mother missed the story and the backstory and Are now in the process of making fools of themselves once again. The offending press reports Once again failed to discredit anything the current in the ministration does. And more than likely the story is being over reported but the entire story is being under reported or dropped completely from public purview.
That means Web and Hillary did the nasty? Ewwwwww? Think about THAT for a second....
I’m waiting for some enterprising Company to manufacture a Melania Trump Chain Saw.
But if that something nice is coming from a Clinton, there is bound to be an ulterior motive.
Where are the “Make Me A Sandwich, Chelsea” freepers when you need them?
Probably, but I was trying to be nice.... Christmas and all that.
:)
Nothing holds a candle to the mess a Carolina Pine makes. Vile weed.
LOL.
No quarter.
Shut up Chelsea Hubble and make us sandwiches.
You make peace with the pine needles and pinecones, which should become mulch and decorative elements respectively, for sane people at least. Rain gutters are a waste of time, they’ll stay clogged. Do without, with gravel or tile on the ground to catch the runoff, or put diverters with chains down to the ground on each corner for the rainwater to flow down upon. If you take that route might as well put in some nice cisterns, although lack of rain isn’t typically a problem. Does happen on rare occasion.
Chelsea and spouse asking Siri for directions to a deli.
The nanny however looks like she could juggle five coconuts, hack them all in half with a machete before they hit the ground.
“Yes Chelsea, we are preserving enough lumber from the tree to build a cross and post it on front of the White House.”
The gif that keeps on giving! One of the best ever!
Very good post!
Thank you!
