Chelsea Clinton thanked first lady Melania Trump for preserving part of a damaged magnolia tree planted by former President Andrew Jackson.
“Thank you to all the Chief Horticulturists and everyone from the National Park Service who have taken care of the beautiful grounds of the @WhiteHouse over the years,” tweeted Clinton, who grew up in the White House during her father Bill Clinton's two terms in office. “Thank you @FLOTUS for preserving part of a tree I & so many have treasured.”

The way the commie media was reporting it made it sound like Melania told them “Tear down that tree!” well of course there was MUCH more to the story, which the commie media didnt reveal, that the tree itself is falling apart..gee media, ever hear of TREE TRIMMERS..its what they do..!
I will admit to having only read the excerpt, but can you point out the hubris and arrogance in her statement? She thanked those that did the work, and thanked Melania for overseeing the preservation of a historical tree - by taking rootings from the tree to be planted.
Again, I am limiting my judgment to only this statement, as my distaste for Chelsea and her parents does not allow me to view any of them favorably, on the whole.
The plantings of the tree are the same tree, they are clones. It is likely that the decision to cut down the existing tree was made due to the suitability of the clones to replace it, at this time.
It seems to me that that the tree has been well cared for and that the clones will do well.
Her mom is wearing an ankle bracelet. Of course she will now be nice.
Melania actually SAVED part of this tree?
You’d never know that by reading Yahoo! News coverage of this. They lead you to believe that she personally killed the tree by spilling champagne on it, then chopped it down herself with a hatchet, then set the branches on fire with a blowtorch.
You have to go twelve paragraphs in before you learn the the danged tree was about to fall over.
