Don’t the scientists at Oak Ridge have better things to waste taxpayer money on?

Somewhere the scientists who created Y-12 must be saddened if Oak Ridge has come to this. Then again as a curmudgeon, am I missing some valuable technological advance in this story?.

The article say something like the scientists there created the toy so that the ext generation would know they were useful ... that’s good because the next generation can hardly count so making toys should suit them just fine - perhaps they can ‘engineer’ (with Chinese ‘help”) the worlds smallest safe space ...

“In fact, don’t expect to see one at all, unless you happen to have an electron microscope.”

You don’t need an electron microscope to see something that is 100 u in size. Any student microscope would be more than sufficient.

Well, maybe. Time will tell. A spokesman did say

...the world’s smallest fidget spinner may have future applications as the world’s smallest manufactured motor. “You can use them for all kinds of devices,” he said. “There are lots of applications where you want small, mechanical devices and a motor can be used to drive one of those.”

Nascar will try to make $ off just about ANYTHING - well, except maybe Confederate Battle Flags.
Never thought I’d see the day where they’d take a swipe at the hand that feeds them. Oh well . . . like nfl-like nascar !

That’s for sure. I’M gonna Do a Speedweeks/Daytona 500 Thread and see how much response it gets. 2 Years ago Threads kinda fizzled because of the crap NUTZCAR has done.

Me spending 12/17/16 - 03/03/17 in Hospital and Rehab Physical Therapy didn’t help either for 2017.

If Ya want on the PING List let Me know.
