Don’t the scientists at Oak Ridge have better things to waste taxpayer money on?

Somewhere the scientists who created Y-12 must be saddened if Oak Ridge has come to this. Then again as a curmudgeon, am I missing some valuable technological advance in this story?.

The article say something like the scientists there created the toy so that the ext generation would know they were useful ... that’s good because the next generation can hardly count so making toys should suit them just fine - perhaps they can ‘engineer’ (with Chinese ‘help”) the worlds smallest safe space ...

“In fact, don’t expect to see one at all, unless you happen to have an electron microscope.”

You don’t need an electron microscope to see something that is 100 u in size. Any student microscope would be more than sufficient.
