We have finally done it ! Gone Baby Gone
I escaped from New Jersey in 1988 and moved to Texas. In the interim I spent 10 years in Minnesota - job related. It reminded me of why I left the NYC area. I got homesick and returned to Texas.
We knew people who lived in Virginia Beach. He was from update New York (retired Navy flyer) she was from Mississippi. Her mother thought she was turning into a Yankee.

Florida’s First Congressional District has been described as the most conservative in the nation. It is basically the Western part of the Panhandle.
Our high school senior trip in 1965 was to Washington D.C. and the New York World’s Fair.
The Fair was clean and even had reasonably priced restaurants. New York City seemed to us to be dirty, raunchy and the prices were sky high. The only place to eat with reasonable prices was the auto-mat.
We came from a beautiful little town and none of us would have lived in New York, no matter what.
Savannah by any chance? That is my favorite part of South Carolina. I could probably get used to living there.
Left in 1980 from upstate....makes no difference if all New Yorkers move out...they just ruin the states they move to...democrats are lifers to the party...New York State must be 10 to 1 now???
Well Savannah is in Georgia. You are probably thinking of Charleston.

Yes, you are correct! I was thinking of Charleston. Also Hilton Head is pretty nice. I spent three months of my life across from Hilton Head on Parris Island - which was not very nice. That I can tell you.

Actually, here in the Myrtle Beach area there are a few really good pizzerias. In fact, the owner of one of them learned to make great pizza from a friend of mine in the New Haven area.
