Christmas movies have become a family tradition for many. During the weeks leading up to Christmas, loved ones snuggle up together, often armed with buttery popcorn and hot cocoa, and repeat their favorite lines along with the characters in the Christmas movie they're watching. In fact, many families have a lineup of favorite Christmas movies that they rotate throughout the holiday season. There are several movies, however, that are universally loved and make it onto most families' viewing schedules. Below are the seven best Christmas movies of all time.

It’s a clay-nation but i found “follow that sleigh” with Elvis the rocking reindeer a Christmas must for many years with my nieces.

I also like the Nativity Story movie from 2006
It's A Wonderful Life should be #1, and the Alastair Sim version of A Christmas Carol should be no lower than #3.
I'm really not a fan of the modern goofy ones like National Lampoon and Home Alone.
Go to the nest thread to see what he thinks of Elf.
Donovan’s Reef

Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas
Except for White Christmas, I only like the black and white ones.
The Santa Clause with Tim Allen.
Tim plays a wonderful part-——a reluctant Santa;
Suddenly gaining a paunch, sitting on a park bench, kids line up to tell him what they want for Christmas, FedEx delivers piles of toys to his house.
3 Godfathers.
“A Christmas Carol” with George C Scott.....
Marilyn Maxwell and Bob Hope introduce the famous “Silver Bells” Christmas tune. This picture is really a little known gem.
Many years ago The Al Jolson Story was a popular movie for the season, even tho Jolson was Jewish. It was an excellent movie, and a big box office success. Great music.
It has long since been banned as politically incorrect, as it portrayed Jolson in black face, which was an accurate depiction of Jolson’s performances.
“Scrooged”
Yep. Don’t know how many times I’ve seen it, but every danged time I get all weepy eyed at the end when the little kid speaks.
Thanks for that link!
In any case no matter how you look at it best & worst lists are just one guy's opinion. I like "It's a Wonderful Life" and my wife thinks it's corny. She likes "A Christmas Story" while I find it boring and manipulative. Thank goodness our relationship does not rest on movie preferences.
For Me the #1 is the original “The Bishops Wife”
Yes, with Miracle on 34th Street #2. Oh, and 1938’s A Christmas Carol is better, as Reginald Owen is better than Sim. Bob Cratchit (Gene Lockhart) appears in Miracle as the judge.
Scrooged.
Hey, I can’t help it if he has no taste!
