Support for the Flat Earth movement has been exploding in popularity, with millions believing NASA is trying to dupe us about the shape of our planet.
Google Trends data reveals searches for “flat earth” in the past two years have tripled, with a 90 percent surge in interest in the cranky conspiracy theory.
High-profile celebrity endorsements have helped grow a community of people who reject “globehead” thinking and insist that the world is in fact flat.
Those coming out about their belief include NBA player Kyrie Irving, who said in a podcast that he believed the Earth is not the globe we thought it was.
Then in September, rapper Bobby Ray Simmons Jr, aka B.o.B, launched a crowdfunding campaign to send satellites into orbit to confirm Earth’s shape.
Other celeb “flat-earthers” include Tila Tequila and cricket star Freddy Flintoff.
Outrageous stunts “proving” Earth is not a sphere have also been championing the cause.
Californian “Mad” Mike Hughes has built himself a homemade rocket out of scrap metal with the intention of seeing for himself the shape of terra firma.

a sphere does not have an edge... you can travel indefinitely around a sphere and never reach a boundary or edge. On the other hand, if the earth is flat, it must have an edge somewhere, unless the earth is an infinite plane.
... the Bible does not teach that the earth is flat. It was Bible skeptics who introduced this false claim in the 19th century. It is a shame that professed Bible-believers recently have embraced this false argument and have gone on to promote the flat earth. When combined with its many scientific and observational problems, the flat-earth theory is disproven.

Silly you! There are variable lenses in aircraft windows to keep the round Earth theory alive.
I’d love tho hear their explanation of sunrise occurring at different times for people living in different places.
Expect to see more of this flat earth garbage as the West gets inundated with ever increasing numbers of tea towel heads. Their manual teaches that the earth is flat like a carpet.

It’s really sad as he so fervently believes the earth is flat and there are huge mountains along the edge to keep the water in place.
I swear the number of conspiracy theories circulating exploded after the 9/11 theory came about.
When pundits predicted this sort of thing back in the 70s and 80s I found it all so hard to believe...
Note the second clause here, 'some of the people all of the time' and remember that there are some people who just WANT TO BELIEVE without basis or facts. We see it in almost every note-worth news item.
We are about to have the 49th anniversary of the Apollo 8 Christmas Moon Orbit mission. Yet there are bleepin idiots who claim that the whole Apollo Program was a grand conspiracy. Ignoring the fact that every nation on the globe could use Radio Direction Finders and Telescopes to pinpoint the locations of all of the missions in real time!
Then again there are people who believe that Hillary will become the US President just as soon as Robert Muller finds the Russian Conspiracy!
I know of at least one ‘flat earther’ right here in the Freeper community. I argued with him for about thirty posts, some months back. Didn’t make a dent in his thinking.
