Looks to be a great film.
It does indeed.
I no longer have the ability to post photos but my Father had several of Churchill along with other famous people. His battalion just seemed to often be near where interesting things happened.
Release date, 22 December 2017 in the U.S.
I’m trying to boycott Hollyweird but I will break my boycott to go see this movie.
If they do something right then go see it. Most of the stuff they put out is pure cr@p.
Let’s see, just off the top of my head:
Gary Oldman has played:
1. Sid Vicious (Sid and Nancy)
2. Lee Harvey Oswald (JFK)
3. Dracula (Bram Stoker’s Dracula)
4. Hitler (Max)
5. Beethoven (Immortal Beloved)
6. Rev. Dimmesdale (The Scarlet letter)
7. The Crazy bad guy in “The Fifth Element”
8. Plus roles in Harry Potter, Batman, and others.
And now, Churchill.
And, I understand he is a conservative of sorts.
Well that might explain why he is one of the most underappreciated but brilliant stars of all of Hollywood.
I wonder if leftists will turn out to see this.
It has things they’re obsessed with. Nazis, Hitler and the word Dark in the title.
I have to say I was underwhelmed by the movie “Dunkirk” this summer. But I am very much looking forward to “Darkest Hour”.
This is the one movie I want to see this year.
Unfortunately, the director is an idiot, but I guess that is a given with his type.
“Winston Churchill of Darkest Hour a rebuke to Trump, says film’s director.
Director Joe Wright says that the biopic, which stars Gary Oldman as Churchill, will show the war leader resisting tide of fascism, bigotry and hate”
Can’t wait to see it. I do expect it to be great. However, watch it get totally snubbed at the Academy Awards (for the PC flavor of the moment).
I also like Oldman in “True Romance”. Small but incredible role. Great acting.
Old man is a brilliant actor. I have read that he has studied/adopted so many different accents for his film work that be had to hire a coach to re-learn his native English accent for “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.”
Powerline does not like the film.

Churchill was very conservative, especially in his last 50 years. He despised Gandhi, really supported Colonialism and hated Communism.
That should be enough to make the left hate him if he is portrayed honestly.
He was quite good in his brief appearance in True Romance.

The movie did not tell the real story.
The real story of Dunkirk was the holding of the perimeter by British and French troops that permitted the massing of the soldiers for evacuation. Without a defensive perimeter, the troops would have had to have surrendered.
The above book covered lots of the history of the evacuation and situation back home in Britain. It also covered to a limited extent, how the move was made (I am not really interested in that). Good read!
I haven’t seen it. i will have to check it out.
He’s so good i didn’t even realize he was British! LOL!
