The trillions of dollars generated annually by the tech industry appears to have not bought any inner peace to the guilt-ridden executives of Silicon Valley. The heads of the largest tech companies have sought solace at Esalen Institute, a nonprofit spiritual retreat where visitors do yoga and meditation exercises, eat organic food, and learn about tantric sex. And, if that wasn't enough, they also sit around naked for hours at a time to try and discover their inner-selves.

At least the despots of other ages had some sort of reason for being: primogeniture, winning in war, being the smartest or cruelest in a population of lesser beings. However, these pathetic tech billionaires know that if they and their companies would be wiped off the face of the earth, it would be a minor inconvenience that would be missed for a while. But the world would go on as before.
They have constructed their own reality, much as the poor beings do who live on their machines, as the limited days of their lives pass them by.

Esalen Institute is clothing optional at the hot baths but it is very far from a hedonistic experience.
I’ve been there a couple time.
Expensive, food is cheap and mostly bland.
Very pretty location!
Now Esalen teaches some of the best massage in the country.
Ventana Inn, near Esalen is a much better experience if you want a romantic getaway.

It is a very large building, a warehouse spanning the millennia, the Hall of Brilliant Powerful Fools. Inductees are men who did massive things but contradicted their greatness with absurdity. Solomon’s life fills one whole wing.

paying a $1,000 a night to “walk around in a circle” isn’t going to do the trick. The ONLY solution to cure these “guilt-ridden” fools is to give away ALL of their money and stuff and live as paupers on the street with only a begging-bowl for sustenance. I guarantee them that that would cure their guilt! And it’s all just so simple too!
All Harvey Weinstein needs is to spend enough time at Esalen.... he will be a new man!
