Everyone should, but there needs to be a lot more proof before I’m going to turn on Moore.
So far I’m not buying into the charges leveled at him.
I will not defend him if it gets to the point I think he’s guilty. I’m not supporting him blindly.
I respect the rule of law. He is innocent until proven guilty.
If the allegations are true, then he'd be perfectly suited to sit with that bunch of crooked, deviant pr!cks in Congress.
Ehat you say is true, but that is different than winning or losing an election. The potus cannot afford a 52-48 senate, so a 51-49 would be terrible. McCain would rule the senate.
At this point I don't care if he did what they accused him of. They waited 40 years, so obviously they didn't feel all that strongly about it. (and that's if we believe them, which I don't.)
“Everyone should, but there needs to be a lot more proof before Im going to turn on Moore.”
I agree.
If this is true I think it is pure pragmatism, not based on Moore having “done it” or not.
I don’t know, but the idea is elect Sessions via write-in, get a new attorney general. This based not on Moore’ “guilt” but on concern the smear is working. Substituting Sessions in this scenario would lessen the chance the Dem might win.
In this scenario Moore would have to be on board and endorse Sessions.
All that said, I have no idea if this report is true or not.
Me either. The man's held various public offices for many years, and these women just now come out of the woodwork, from 40 years ago to keep him from office? Surely at least one of them would have been dug up decades ago if anything untoward had occurred. The reason these allegations weren't fabricated back then is that Moore wasn't a threat to McConnell as a judge, but as a Senator, and Bannon-backed candidate, he obviously is now. The fact that McConnell spent millions to get Luther Strange elected in the primary is all anybody needs to know. Mitch is a sore loser, and like the Dems, and likely with the help of the Dems, will go to any length, and do anything just to get the results he wants.
just read the whole article. seems woefully short on sources and pretty long on speculation.
You said it, My hope now is that Trump continues to walk that line and avoid either full support for Moore or full castigation. The right move is to continue to leave it up to Moore and his own conscience (if he wants to admit his guilt) or the voters in his state (if he wants to play this out) If he wins, Trump should then throw all his support as the verdict is that his accusers were lying. (Which should be obvious based on her lawyer.)
Let me preface by just saying that the outing of men has passed the rubicon, since Weinstein. This trend that is oh, so in vogue today, will hurt women, and men will have to ignore them in the work place to avoid charges, insinuations, rumors and slander, and possibly even litigation.
As for Moore:
In the absence of ever a case, and not now a case, there is no case, it seems to me.
If I were an Alabama voter I would have to vote for Moore for the sake of the country and over the spit flying accusations of 40 years ago that may or may not have happened at all, and which obviously even if they did would defy the Statute of Limitations to prosecute a case, I think.
Who in Alabama could dare turn a US Senate seat over to a Democrat in these times, when Moore has brought nothing if not a commendable and courageously conservative record to his name, his office and to the state of Alabama and to this Alabama ballot. I pray he gets elected for the sake of the country. Never mind the vulgar flirtations reportedly common to the South in decades past. The women were not injured, for whatever reasons never pressed charges at the time. Only now they complain. Forgetaboutit.
In the South, Jerry Lee Lewis not that long ago married a fifteen year old quite legally, who was his cousin. So, in the South these age gap relationships were hardly stunning events that they are today. My 2 cents.. :D
As a member of the jury, one is seldom 100% certain.
I know this because I have served on 3 juries
However, you have to make up your mind!
Sometimes you have to decide which witnesses are lying.
As a Juror in the trial of Roy Moore, I vote: NOT GUILTY!
