(CNN)Actor John Hillerman died of natural causes Thursday at his home in Houston, Texas, his publicist, Lori De Waal, said. He was 84 years old. Hillerman was best known for his Emmy Award-winning work in the long-running detective series "Magnum, P.I." The stage-trained actor first made an impression as arrogant radio show detective Simon Brimmer on the NBC revival of "Ellery Queen" in 1975. Hillerman then took on notable roles as the boss of Bonnie Franklin on the long-running CBS sitcom "One Day at a Time," and trading sarcastic quips with Betty White in the short-lived sitcom "The Betty White Show" in 1977.

All these great Hollywood actors are dying off and we’re left with nothing but scumbag sex perverts and pedophiles....
Yeah I really liked him as an actor. As far as I know he was a decent human being as well.
“we offer you this laurel.... and Hardy handshake”
He had quite a career!
Higgins is reunited with The Lads.
Search still works, you know.
But you always repost old news. Daily. Why is that?
Is he not also KITT from Knight Rider and the teacher from Boy Meets World?
I thought it was funny during the last episode of Magnum in which Thomas finally says to him “You really are Robin Masters” or something to that effect, lol.
I remember it being kind of funny as a kid in the early 1980s watching morning reruns of “One Day At a Time” episodes in which Hillerman played Bonnie Franklin’s boss in the earlier seasons of that show, while Magnum was on at primetime.
(I guess not. That’s William Daniels.)
No, that was William Daniels. He was also Dr. Mark Craig in “St Elsewhere” at the same time in which he played KITT’s voice in “Knight Rider”, and that I thought was a hoot too as I liked both shows back in the day.
Damn, another actor who I thought had already passed.
Condolences to family and friends of John Hillerman.
Daylight savings time ended.................
Godspeed, Mr Hillerman.
