The first anniversary of the election of President Donald Trump is to be marked this Wednesday, November 8, in Dublin, in what is being dubbed by organizers as a night of resistance.
To be held in association with the Irish Refugee Council and their projects working with young people in Irelands Direct Provision system, Irish Stand is the second event of its kind to be held by the grassroots movement which supports civil rights protections for all immigrants.
Last St. Patricks Day 2017 in New York, over 1,500 people gathered in the Riverside Church in Manhattan to take an Irish Stand against the anti-immigrant rhetoric pushed by the many Irish Americans within Trumps administration.
Raising $20,000 for the ACLU, the large rally featured names such as journalist Joy Ann Reid, comedian Maeve Higgins, Irish writer Colum McCann, among many other artists and activists standing in solidarity with immigrants of all nationalities in the US.

What is the media feeding the Irish people about Pres. Trump?
You mean “Irish” with first names like Muhammad?
You missed the one that asks if you’re Irish. Yes? STFU. NO? STFU anyway.
Tossers eh?
sca-rew the Irish. I don’t give a damn what other countries think of us. let them keep their people on their own soil
This stuff is no more than a reflection of the "Trump hates immigrants" meme the media have been pushing for more than a year now. Poison seeds will find fertile ground eventually.

Mind your own bidness, morons. No one asked for your nitwitted opinions.
I doubt if the boyos will go to get some - they havent figured THAT out yet.
Thanks for that. I read a book a few years back - “How the Irish Saved Civilization.” Fascinating look at a culture tinged by the spirit of Saint Patrick (not really a saint) and his single-minded ability to unite the Irish. Great insight on how Patrick (I can’t pronounce the Gealic name_ help foster a culture that would go on to record European history through the art of writing for posterity
So yeah, my previous comment might have been a bit snide on my part.
