The premise of Ms. Komisars bookbacked by research in psychology, neuroscience and epigeneticsis that mothers are biologically necessary for babies, and not only for the obvious reasons of pregnancy and birth. Babies are much more neurologically fragile than weve ever understood, Ms. Komisar says. She cites the view of one neuroscientist, Nim Tottenham of Columbia University, that babies are born without a central nervous system and mothers are the central nervous system to babies, especially for the first nine months after birth.
What does that mean? Every time a mother comforts a baby in distress, shes actually regulating that babys emotions from the outside in. After three years, the baby internalizes that ability to regulate their emotions, but not until then. For that reason, mothers need to be there as much as possible, both physically and emotionally, for children in the first 1,000 days.
Ms. Komisar tells of hosting a charity gathering for millennials at her apartment. One young woman asked me what my book was about. I told her, and she got so angry. She almost had fire coming out of her eyes, she was so angry at my message. She said, You are going to set women back 50 years. I said, Gosh, I wouldnt want to do that.
Christian radio stations interviewed me and loved me, she says. She went on Fox & Friends, and the host was like, your book is the best thing since the invention of the refrigerator. But I couldnt get on NPR, and I was rejected wholesaleparticularly in New Yorkby the liberal press. She did appear on ABCs Good Morning America, but seconds before the camera went live, she says, the interviewer told her: I dont believe in the premise of your book at all. I dont like your book.

I used to see advertisements for fatherhood.gov on the SEC Network all the time. It was one after another.
So our government has to tell men how to behave like a civilized human being? Taxpayers have to pay to tell worthless POS to get off their lazy ass and be a father?
By the way, most of the commercials used white breeders as their examples .... got to be PC.
I am like this, if a breeder isn’t taking care of his current offspring, have them fixed.
Feminism at its core is an anti fertility cult.
Conservatives have known this since...well, forever.
Thank you for the excerpt!
I didn’t need to go behind the WSJ paywall to know to buy the book....as a Grandpa in waiting....
The audio excerpt at Amazon is great!
Being There: Why Prioritizing Motherhood in the First Three Years Matters

by Erica Komisar
Something their own father should be telling them to do.
There is a lot of failing going on in the world today in this department.
If you get to read the article it mentions how Young men want their wives to work as much as them and make as much money as them. That necessitates either not having children or going back to work after having children.
Money has become more important than children. Our priorities are very messed up.
The Importance Of Prioritizing Motherhood In Your Childs First 3 Years
Maybe after you read the book you can hand it off to the parents to be.
Agree. The priorities are all wrong. Money isn’t everything. Once upon a time, families didn’t all need a half million dollar home. Now it seems a necessity for so many. The home with the white picket fence isn’t the goal anymore.
With their fierce support of abortion on demand there is little argument to be made to the contrary.
Yes, quite the point.
Grandma already seconded the motion.
I wish you many more happy and healthy grandchildren.
Posted about about my family. Deleted it. Let’s just say we learned the hard way how important mothers are to raising healthy children.
You never get another chance at childhood and no matter how much money you have you cant fix your children after they are grown.
Ping
Pinging me to my own thread?
Or did you intend to ping someone else?
Don’t discount parental alienation... it is pervasive especially in the middle class white community.
Look up Doctor Craig Childress on YouTube
Also look up Golden uterus syndrome. Fathers basically have zero rights especially in blue States
How do you get past the paywall?
I meant to bookmark for later.
Gee, babies need their mothers for lots of reasons. Liberals just don’t believe it??? What the heck???
