I have wondered why Hillary picked such an unknown, weird pick for her running-mate. Just what did she think he would bring to the ticket? The only thing I can think of is that she believed he would deliver the state of Virginia.
This is of course a vanity post, but I still can't figure out why she picked him. I thought it was weird at the time.
Her one big shot at the big time, and she picked Tim Kaine?
#3 is 90%. #2 is 10%. #1. No! Hillary doesn’t honor deals that favor others. Her deals must always be 1 way.
Right after Kaine was named the nominee a ‘good friend’ of his (gay male who worked on his campaigns) died of a heart attack.

I assume you know Kaine is a closet gay. That’s an easy way to have control leverage over someone.
I swear I just read somewhere that Kaine was a commie Alinsky style. I thought that was the allure.
Using VP to describe Kaine means Veritable Prick.

Who should she have really picked?
1) A representative of which identity group would help the most?
2) A person who was articulate, could convince with words people not impressed (sufficiently) with identity group?
On TV Becerra of California wins debates with Republicans of all stripes...moderates, conservatives, libertarians. He is articulate and skilled debater. I can’t think of any other Democrat so articulate and skilled at using the language.
But how about a Bill Gates or Mark Cuban? They would have brought a respectability to the campaign solely because they were not political hacks, as Kaine, Becerra and Clinton are.

Debbie Wasserman-Shultz was Hillary’s campaign chair in 2008’s presidential bid.
Brokered by Terry McAuliffe, Governor of Virginia and former Bill Clinton Fundraiser (He also provided the $$$ for the Clinton’s to purchase their Chappaqua House) McAuliffe appointed Kaine as Senator for Virginia and promised Hillary’s VP slot in the next election in exchange for his resignation as chair of the DNC.

Debbie Wasserman-Shultz fixes the Dem primary with “Super Delegates” assuring a Hillary nomination.

He stepped aside to give the job to Debbie Wassserman Schultz who was a Clinton partisan who was totally in the tank for Hillary . Her job was to fix the Primary do Hillary got the nomination no matter what.
She made the DNC a subsidiary of of the Clinton campaign

It would be nice if more people subscribed a bit more to Occam’s razor theoretical approach. This alone would weed out a lot of the junk that gets put out there.
Convoluted planning and execution are not usually employed in most activities.

Clinton needed a Pedo clown for some reason.
Besides securing Virginia’s electoral votes, he inherited Biden’s role of convincing white men they could safely vote Democrat after decades of marginalization and attacks. This was even more important as white men found Obama easier to support (at least in 2008) than Hillary in 2016.
Her other potential choices are all smarter than she is. Not acceptable.
Trump was confident enough to choose someone who was a competent and popular person. He didn't see him as competition; but, as an asset. I think Clinton saw a VP as someone who would be competition to her, and so, she chose a non-entity. Honestly, I couldn't stand looking at him, just something off about him.
Perhaps if they had just Arkancided Jill Stein? 8>)
