The Bombers KOd Keuchel and the Astros 5-0 in Game 5 on Wednesday at the Stadium, and will take a 3-2 series lead back to Houston, with a chance to get back to the World Series for the first time since they last won it all in 2009.
Masahiro Tanaka struck out eight, walked one and allowed three hits over seven scoreless innings, as the Yankees improved to a perfect 6-0 in the Bronx during the playoffs.

The much vaunted Astros bats have gone silent.
You know the execs at Fox wants a LA v. NY series.
For sure.

Not that, based on ALL the sports shows you would even know L.A. was even in it.
Every day for lunch I go to the bar area in the local restaurants for the faster service. Of course they have all the sports shows on and they cover every team in the hunt, even ones that have already been knocked out, and not a SINGLE story on the Dodgers.
This has always been true about L.A. sports. Until they are in the finals in any sport, there is scant coverage.
OTOH, sports coverage IN L.A. is also scant, no matter how the local teams are doing (and virtually no coverage of college to speak of no matter what).
They don’t call Houston “Choke City” for nothing.
If the people in LA don't care about their teams, why should we?
Go JV
Boo! Go Astros!
Fox wants the Yankees to win (as do I!), but Joe Buck certainly doesn’t.
Finesse pitching isn't working for the Astros. They will have to put the ball in play and rely on their defense to get the outs.
Oh, and the Astros have to start hitting, too. It's time to start playing small ball.

Dodgers may be best, but the Yankees may be the hottest team in baseball right now.
Verlander will likely win one in Houston.
“All your base are belong to us” responds Houston.
YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Harvey Keitel’s character explained it in a movie long ago. When the games are in the largest TV markets the series will go 7 games. NY is the #1 TV market. It turned out his character was wrong but it makes sense.
I’m 66 years old and live in Houston so I really want Houston to win because my chances of attending a World Series game in my hometown are dwindling fast.
One game away can be as good as infinity with Verlander on the mound and heading back to Houston.
The real shock to the Astros (and all of baseball) has been hownunderrates the Yanks starting staff was. They expected to take on the bullpen of the Yankees after rolling over the starter.

I never quite understand how ratings for a World Series with New York teams or other big markets, get higher ratings.
The World Series is the highlight of the baseball season, no matter which teams are in it. I’ve always looked forward to the World Series, no matter whether a team I like is in it, regardless of whether it’s a big market team or not.
I guess there are a lot of casual fans, who will watch a Yankees World Series, but not one with a team such as Tampa Bay Rays or Kansas City Royals??
Point is, all strong baseball fans will watch no matter which teams are in it.
Keuchel is a better pitcher. Verlander can certainly win but given the choice with both pitchers available Houston would prefer Keuchel on the mound in game 6.
Also keep in mind hitters always do better against a pitcher when they face him just days apart as happens in a series like this. Stats show that a lineup will do better against the picture the second time through versus the first and the third time through versus the second. The more they see the picture the better chance they have and in fact do hit him.
