>>You know the execs at Fox wants a LA v. NY series.<<

Not that, based on ALL the sports shows you would even know L.A. was even in it.

Every day for lunch I go to the bar area in the local restaurants for the faster service. Of course they have all the sports shows on and they cover every team in the hunt, even ones that have already been knocked out, and not a SINGLE story on the Dodgers.

This has always been true about L.A. sports. Until they are in the finals in any sport, there is scant coverage.

OTOH, sports coverage IN L.A. is also scant, no matter how the local teams are doing (and virtually no coverage of college to speak of no matter what).

Fox wants the Yankees to win (as do I!), but Joe Buck certainly doesn’t.

I never quite understand how ratings for a World Series with New York teams or other big markets, get higher ratings.

The World Series is the highlight of the baseball season, no matter which teams are in it. I’ve always looked forward to the World Series, no matter whether a team I like is in it, regardless of whether it’s a big market team or not.

I guess there are a lot of casual fans, who will watch a Yankees World Series, but not one with a team such as Tampa Bay Rays or Kansas City Royals??

Point is, all strong baseball fans will watch no matter which teams are in it.

I’m not sure if that’s true. A series between two teams that are three time zones apart is not ideal for TV. I think a Yankees-Cubs series would attract the biggest TV audience in history.
