Caveat: This is a Microsoft Marketing Announcement of Windows 10 Version 1709 "Fall Creators Update".
This update __WILL__ be pushed out to ALL Windows 10 users, so those of you who run Win10 should pay attention because your computing experience is about to change.

Just when i get everything organized and running smoothly on Windows 10.....................
around here, messengers are the first to go.
I bought a Win Sarface Book. It has Win 10S.
I was able to do nothing. I mean NOTHING. For a mere $200 they said I could get Win 10 Pro.
I sent their $2,000 laptop back to them.
Smart, MS — smart.
It should not unorganized you. Updated two of my laptops over the weekend.
Thanks for starting this thread.
It took over two hours for this and the flash update to download and install.
I am not sure what all is changing but I did check to make sure various items I had turned off stay off.
I have noticed my FireFox browser is a little slower.
Dang I was afraid of that
Three freakin hours later and its FINALLY done downloading on my laptop, its installing now, then desktop
Mine got updated earlier this week. Now it cannot come out of sleep mode without screwing up the screen driver, so that I have to power it off.
Thanks for screwing me up, MS.
And by the way, I have also noticed that things are definitely slower, especially on VPN.
I am just about done with MS. This will be my last windows computer.
#10 I have had 2 calls about the Surface Pro going to sleep. We went into the Power options to change settings. I have my new Windows 10 desktop here at work. I had already made those changes a month ago. When I walked the caller thru making changes I noticed some of my settings had reverted back. Sneaky they are.
Best to keep ‘Doze in a VirtualBox...
my install seems good so far
You were supposed to be able to convert for free. What happened?
>>What happened?<<
Misogyny, silly!
That aside, I don’t know. Later Best Buy (where I bought the replacement — better and cheaper BTW) said they have a free upgrade to Pro option.
It all worked out OK. All the new non-Apple devices are standardizing on USB-C (including the new HP Spectre laptop which has normal and USB-C). Except the Surface series.
I have the older Surface before MS went nuts and live it but the one USB and DisplayPort only are a small PIA.
Note: I have seen Win 10S compared to Windows RT. Wrong, It is worse (and dumber) than Windows ME!
My Win10 VM decided to start the upgrade at 11pm (EDT) last night. I babysat it for a while and then crashed out on the sofa. It finally finished around 3am.
Sheesh.
That was a short-term marketing "loss-leader" offer. For some machines upgrading was $50 for a while, I think. "Butt Now You Vil Pay!"
As with the Creators Update earlier this year, the Windows Update deployment will be slow to start off with. After a spate of issues around the Anniversary Update, which shipped in 2016, Microsoft took a more measured approach with the Creators Update. It took about five months for the previous update to reach two-thirds of machines, as the company rolled the operating system out first to systems known to be compatible, then expanded its reach to an ever larger range of hardware and software, and finally opened the floodgates and offered it to (almost) any Windows 10 machine.
I'll be glad to wait until the dust settles.
It must have been a promo. What a stinky thing to do.
