The incident happened just over a week ago at the Regional Transit Station at 16th and Q streets in midtown Sacramento. Kelly said just as they got on the light rail a pit bull lunged toward Kie and locked it’s jaw onto Kie's snout.

"There was a pit bull on his face just latched on,” Kelly explained. "My dog started screaming."

Kelly said the pit bull's owner later claimed the dog was a service animal.

When Sacramento police reminded the pit bull's owner that they were monitoring footage from surveillance cameras, the man admitted his dog was a pet...

For sociopaths, attacking other people and their dogs may be considered a valuable service.

It sounds to me that these are Companion/Support Dogs, not Service dogs-——an entirely different category and NOT covered by the ADA.

You might want to check the rules for your state for Companion/Support dogs.

>>>I don't care how bad your knees or hips are. Not in a wheelchair? Park with everyone else<<<

My S-I-L has had two Knees and one Hip replaced. She walks with a Cane and is a relatively young Woman with her first Surgery in her mid 50’s. Her other Hips is now a problem.

Her Sister has major back problems, a failed surgical fix and is bent over in constant pain.

She is scared shitless of going through more Surgery and she lives on painkillers. A Friend was diagnosed with severe Rheumatoid Arthritis in his late 30’s. Without Morphine Patches and a handful of Pills, every step is painful. He has suffered with this for nearly 20 years and all it does is get worse for him.

None of them use a Wheelchair, but walking over 50 feet is a struggle.

Generalizations like yours are ignorant and I say this having seen SS Disability Lawyer Commercials with healthy looking 20ish People proclaiming the Lawyer got them their Check.

Not a Wheelchair is sight. All of them are Bi-Polar or something. Hope those are the people you are referring to.

I keep hearing people say that pit bulls are not mean or aggressive. It’s not true. Don’t tell us that lie any more.

Sadly, once a guide dog goes through something like this, he is often less reliable as a guide. He may become too fearful or distrusting to do his job well.

I know a man whose guide dog tried to protect him during a mugging; the dog was taken back by the agency because he had shown aggression.

Bless you & your fur baby. Glad it helps. The woman in my husband’s family will just go the illegal/ shady route for everything that she can’t get the correct way. She has done it so often that it’s second nature to her now. She always has some insane justification.

My brother now asks, for amusement, what her latest scam is. She is actually a genius in a scammer kind of way. It boggles the mind.

pisses me off that there are people claiming to have a service dog in order to take their dogs where ever they go.

Anyone attacked by Pit or other dog, or whose dog so attacked, sue the owner, sue the property owner, sue until you extract an ounce of gold for every ounce of negligence that caused you or your dog the harm.

One of my dogs was attacked by a pit that was (mis)handled by a rescue operation. I had to gouge its eyes to make it let go. I made it clear that they would be held responsible, and a law suit was avoided by them putting it down right away.

There are other people who need service dogs.

However there does need to be something besides a easily counterfeited harness to identify them as trained service animals.

>It had bitten both owners before. They knew it was aggressive.<

I assume your attack was reported to the authorities? I keep seeing reports of dangerous dogs being taken out of the area where they attacked people, to be “rehabilitated” and subsequently adopted to unsuspecting families. One of these dogs killed a 90 year old woman.

The dog needs to be humanely euthanized before it attacks again.
