The incident happened just over a week ago at the Regional Transit Station at 16th and Q streets in midtown Sacramento. Kelly said just as they got on the light rail a pit bull lunged toward Kie and locked its jaw onto Kie's snout.
"There was a pit bull on his face just latched on, Kelly explained. "My dog started screaming."
Kelly said the pit bull's owner later claimed the dog was a service animal.
When Sacramento police reminded the pit bull's owner that they were monitoring footage from surveillance cameras, the man admitted his dog was a pet...

My God, you’d think they’d tag it as “destruction of property”.
Oh wait, that’s right, they really don’t care about property anymore, anyway. Hence innocent dogs suffering. The only thing that ever counts with these undermining commies is maybe if some human is killed. Beatings, robberies, thefts, graffitti; none of it is important enough to prosecute for lib commies.
There is this little runt of a man in our apts and the ONLY way women will talk to him is with his dog. The guy plays tennis and bikes 5 miles a day and walks into every bar or restaurant stating its a service dog.
Have a second can on hand for the owner!
That dog is lucky it wasn’t my dad’s German Shepherd. Zarek was a big wonderful, family friendly, people friendly dog but Katie bar the door if he was off leash and saw another male dog.
I read some girl on social media site bragging about the same thing. I don’t have any social media pages, I saw it through a family member’s page. If I had a page I definitely would say something to her.
Disgusting. This probably happens a lot like the handicapped parking placards and license plates. You can get them for anything deemed medical. Doctors are bad because they sign off on that kind of nonsense.
Yes! Because they’re not real service animals they’re not properly trained at all. People are just getting their pets declared as service animals. This story made the news, but next time one of these fake service dogs is going to kill another person’s pet OR a kid in a place where the animal doesn’t belong like a store or public transportation. Then they’ll finally crack down on this abuse.
I am recovering from a serious dog attack.
Got both my arms and then charged so close to my face that I had flashbacks of dog face about a foot from my own for the first two or three nights.
I’m lucky to be alive. A man who was a few steps away got there just in time to hold the animal off of me with a chair until the owner took it away.
It had bitten both owners before. They knew it was aggressive.
Now I’m getting to know wound doctors and contagious disease doctors and it’s not fun.
I’ve always liked dogs and still do - NICE dogs.
EVERY PERSON who decides to own a POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS DOG should be held 100% RESPONSIBLE for the dog’s actions.
A family member by marriage wanted to travel w/ her dog. Got a note from her doctor. She has scammed so many people so many times. If her mom knew half of what she’s done she would have a heart attack on the spot.
Friends of mine, hubby and wife, brag about how they printed “Service Animal” creds from a Google image search and bought a cheap harness. They take their dogs everywhere they go and never get questioned.
At least there’s a lighter side of cheating the system:
When I drove for Trailways some of my pick up points were unmanned. One cold night there was an elderly lady among the crowd with a canary in a cage. Someone had dropped her off and left. Some of the crowd had told her that she could not take the bird on the bus, in fact they seemed to be enjoying her anxiety over it. I walked over to her and said “You must be the lady who needs the canary for your carbon monoxide sensitivity. Is there anything else we can do for you?” She looked puzzled for a moment, then broke into a big grin. On they went. I filled the next driver in on her connection and he continued the charade.
I live in NJ. There are some good cops here, one of whom is a personal friend of mine.
But the laws are all written for libs and the libs don’t care about anything that normal people would care about... ever.
Stolen Valor for dogs.
Aw, now you’ve given Planned Parenthood another marketing idea for their products.
The service dog is lucky to have survived.
You can buy a service dog package on Amazon. It comes with a dog vest and 50 "authentic-looking" ADA cards to pass out when people ask to see documentation.
Show these cards and nobody is going to argue (until your "emotional support" pit bull starts chewing people's faces off).
Real Service Dog Vest Harness + 50 FREE ADA Info Cards Kit
I think we can make *some* exceptions:
I carry a .40 when I walk my dog.
He’s but 16lbs, half of that testicles. Border Terrier.
He over-pees every marking left by other male dogs and it really angers them.
I will kill any dog that attacks.
Take that to the bank.
An easy solution would be that a “service dog” would have a registration number visible(like a license plate) on the animals harness. This would be registered and could be verified with a simple phone call. No great expense, no big problem, similar to a handicap plate or window placard. Problem with “fake” service animals would immediately cease to exist
I hope so. Not too long ago I saw a really creepy guy at my local Meijers with a little "service" dog (Maybe it should have been classified as a comfort puppy) in his shopping cart.......I thought to myself, WTH??????
But on another occasion at the same Meijers store, I saw a young vet with a prosthetic leg with his service dog, a Doberman, and couldn't help but think what hell he went thru........
Totally off topic but I've read several comments over time about members criticizing the ADA demanding easy access for disabled people. All I have to add is that this past summer, I had just left my gas station after paying my bill and was getting into my car when a young guy pulled up in his Mustang on the other side of my pump.
I watched him as he struggled to pull out a wheelchair from the back seat in order to seat himself and pump his gas. He had no legs............I went over and said hey dude, I'm a vet too, can I give you a hand? He said no thanks, I've got it........I said OK bro and got in my car and left........
I had tears in my eyes as I drove home......
Good for you!
