all snakes look alike.

This is my father-in-law's motto. He has a deathly phobia of snakes.... and a lot of guns.

Gotta be tough to teach a snake to line up that shot.

I can’t believe the coincidence to my day. I offered to help my son in law to get a snake out of his storage building. I AM GOING TO RETHINK MY OFFER!!

You must really like your wife’s family. Mothers-in-law, generally speaking, are the saltpeter and kryptonite of any decent marriage. I’ve been through two, so I have combat medals to show for it.

I’d like to think I’m more careful with guns than that.
As much as I hated her, I loved my mother in law, and surely wouldn’t have shot her.

Bob Ross would have called it a happy accident.

I’d hate to be him when Thanksgiving and Christmas come around. He’ll probably need a taste-tester if his MIL cooks.

Shot the wrong snake?

My personal experience with Mother-in-Laws would indicate he got the right one.

He won’t be asking her to pass the deviled eggs on Thanksgiving dinner celebration.

No. My wife had very unique and wonderful parents and I miss them. My sympathies are with the millions of others who may not have been so lucky.

Ah. Then all respects to you and you wife’s parents, then. I was always considered the predatory tomcat. And for good reason, although my intentions were always noble.
