I want Goodell to resign before I watch another game, Super Bowl included. (FTR, I've never intentionally missed a televised NY Giants game in 60+ years, and I've always lived in their TV market, a few vacations excepted.)

Way, Way too late. I’ve gotten accustomed to ignoring the unpatriotic spoiled jackasses. Bye, Bye, NFL. And if Le Bron the-foul-mouthed-spoiled-brat-high-school-graduate James’s behavior is any hint as to what the NBA will be doing, then goodbye to those fools also.

Why don’t you apologize to the kids growing up in the ghettos you came from? Tell them to get an education rather than gang banging.

They are none too bright, figured their fans followed the MSM line, got a surprise when there was a backlash that will impact their income. I hope there is a web site that keeps track of everyone of the players who disrespected in any way the flag and anthem, the info to be included in their bios, etc. They should be remembered for their dislike of this country, a country that has done so much for them.

Like the BEATLES apologizing for their “WE’RE MORE POPULAR THAN JESUS!” moment.
So they had to go full scale Hippier than hippies to win their audience back.

I love football, but right now I have zero interest. Not boycotting, I’m just not interested. That’s sad.

I have the exact same sentiment. I am not sure if it will ever return.

Even if only 5% or 10% of fans shut off the game because of this, that could still kill the NFL. Until this year, game conversation was central to a lot of casual social interactions. How many people watch the Superbowl or catch game scores in the morning just so they can comment over coffee? If some viewers drop out, and particularly if some become hostile to that conversation, the incentive to watch so you are not left out will fade.

Turning off the game can be far more powerful than those on the Left want to admit. My goals: The NFL completely dead, and college ball being only for scholar-athletes. If there is no career to justify playing in college for the illiterate knuckle draggers who make up the NFL, the thugs will not bother with college.

I just posted this on another thread, but wanted to post it here too:

I don’t really care what the NFL does now. They’ve already shown their true colors. In my opinion, they’ve disrespected our flag, our anthem, our military, and our country.

NFL Records to be proud of??

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler, for battery and assault in two separate incidents in July 2017 and March 2016, respectively

Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs, for aggravated assault in March 2003 and leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended license in March 2016

New Orleans Saints running back Adrian Peterson, for injury to a child in Sept. 2014

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Demetrius Harris, for felony marijuana possession in March 2017

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell, for marijuana possession in Aug. 2014

Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus, for felony drug possession and reckless endangerment behind the wheel in two separate incidents in May 2014

Seattle Seahawks practice quarterback Trevone Boykin, for marijuana possession and violating probation in March 2017 and April 2017, respectively

Baltimore Ravens former linebacker Ray Lewis, for murder in Jan. 2000; he ultimately testified in the case and received one year of probation and a $250,000 fine from the NFL

New Orleans Saints defensive end Alex Okafor, for evading arrest and running from the scene after police tried to detain him in March 2015

Tennessee Titans outside linebacker Derrick Morgan, for speeding and driving with a suspended license in June 2010

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Artie Burns, for driving with a suspended license in June 2017

Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller, for failure to appear in court on previous traffic charges, including careless driving and driving without a license, in Aug. 2013 and cited for driving with a suspended license in Sept. 2013

https://www.daily-conservatives.com/2017/09/26/red-alert-nfls-huge-criminal-records-emerged/

According to the data, 2006 was one of the worst years for professional football players–71 arrests were made. Meanwhile, 2013 saw 62 arrests. And this year, the year of NFL protests, we’re at 32 arrests already.

The crimes for which the athletes are apprehended vary wildly. Many of them are violent. The top crimes perpetrated by members of the NFL are, in descending order, DUI, drugs, domestic violence, assault, and disorderly conduct.

These guys really, really don’t get it. Large swaths of Americans have increasingly been turned off football by the players’ off-field thuggery ad general low class behavior.

Many fans were already just barely able to set their disgust aside, and then the plyers pushed them over the edge by disrespecting our flag and our national anthem.

It’s called, ‘The Straw That Broke The Camel’s Back’.

I never watched or really followed, but I was always aware of “the big game” if it involved any state I lived in (I’ve moved a lot) and I was happy if the team won. Now I honestly don’t give a darn. They’ve kicked their audience - and even audience “hangers on” like me - in the teeth.

Maybe they should all have to go out and get real jobs, not get to skate on their criminal charges, and live like the rest of us. Actually, most of them wouldn’t even be capable of getting jobs.

I lived in a college town in the Midwest where members of the college football team (all in remedial classes and recruited from a particularly dismal slum) distinguished themselves by sticking up the local bank drive-thru - in their own car with its real license plate. They were surprised when they were arrested. So they’re not even capable of being successful criminals.
