However, it still was not a good result for CBS and the NFL as the matchup went late and delivered 9.9/18 in metered market ratings. Thats down 13% from the 2016 TNF opener on CBS and NFL Network when the New York Jets beat the Buffalo Bills 37-31. In the first of five TNFs that CBS has this year, last nights game was shown on NFL Network and made its live debut on Amazon Prime.

A rain delay in football. Back in the seventies, football made fun of the baseball pussies for rain delays. I think they even played a football game in a stage 1 hurricane. The tough old NFL that I grew up with is no more. Pete Rozelle is turning in his grave.
The left has us divided. That is their goal.
The left has us divided from them, and united against them. That wasn't their goal.
We were supposed to starting into blacks versus white, not citizens united against social justice warriors.
I watch the opening ceremonies on an antenna TV not hooked up to any kind of technology so it didn't count in the viewership number.
Why would I even care to tune in, when soon enough I’ll find out what happened?
Texas Longhorns were playing. Much better than watching NFL football. And they held on for the win in a scrappy game. Hook ‘em!!!!
That's Green Bay for you. Probably some of the best fans in pro football. They'll pack a stadium win or lose ... even on a cold Wisconsin winter night.
“The left has us divided from them, and united against them. That wasn’t their goal.”
You obviously don’t listen to Rush and Hannity.
“delivered 9.9/18 in metered market ratings” in the real worked it CRASHED!! We are WINNING!!
The media have us divided. Their goal.
The left wants to get rid of the right ... period. One party rule. That's their goal.
Goodell has destroyed the NFL.
Evidently it was more than rain. There was a period of lightning, so they got off the field.
I tuned in till I saw them locking arm-in-arm during the national anthem. They still got their protest in and sticking it to their “racist” fans.
They insanely still don’t get it. No one wants to watch the politicization of sports. At least most sports fans don’t want that, especially since the anti-American protests are based on lies.
I’ve emailed the NFL and their sponsors letting them know they still don’t get it and I will continue to boycott them all till Roger Goodell is gone and they quit the politicization of the NFL.

Very true, what was to be a slow burn community organizing agitation to divide us was blown up by President Donald Trump blasting the NFL and players for their anti-American stance. President Trump is way ahead of these fools, LOL.

Yeah right as if the democrats and republicans voters have been united the last 50 years
No we are NOT being divided
The right is fighting back for a change
Nobody is going to unite us anymore. One side has to win and it better be us!
And I’m sure all of the NFL’s corporate sponsors are hearing it loudly from fans. I wouldn’t be surprised if Hyundai/Kia seriously considers bailing from the NFL to protect their presence in the USA.
No business can survive very long if revenues drop 6% or 7% year over year. If revenues dropped 7% dropped every year for 12 years revenue would be down 50%. If revenue dropped 13% per year every year revenue would be down 50% in less than 6 years. Very few NFL players have degrees in mathematics.
Amen.
