OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - A baby abandoned on the shoulder of an Oklahoma City freeway is now in state custody and the infant’s mother has been admitted to a local hospital for evaluation.
A church group on their way back from an amusement park spotted the baby in a car seat on the shoulder of I-40 in the scorching heat Saturday, according to KOCO News.
Police said $5,500 in cash, a birth certificate and a Social Security card were found stuffed into the car seat with the baby.

It's cases such as this that are so difficult. The mother wanted to save her child, but did it wrong by leaving the child in that car. It sounds like panic to the point of irrational thought. I wonder if she'd called the church group about the child being there. Did she not know that a child can be left at hospitals, police, or fire, and with many church groups?
It does seem we're missing part of the story and what led the mom to go about things as she did.

The fact that whoever left that baby there included the birth cert and SS card means that they intended for the baby to be identified. That, along with the cash, is not the work of a disorganized mind.
Whatever the backstory is, the baby and his family need prayer and lots of it.
