Emmy Awards Ratings Hit Low On Trump Bashing Night; ‘Sunday Night Football’ Dips

Right near the beginning of the 69th annual Primetime Emmy Awards last night, host Stephen Colbert hauled former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer out on-stage to declared that the CBS broadcast show would have “the largest audience to witness an Emmys, period — both in person and around the world.”

The Emmy ratings were hurt because there was an NFL game on another channel. Yeah, that’s it. There was no other reason.

But no one watches the NFL anymore.

I am pushing 60. We used to watch the Oscars every year when I was a kid, but we only had two channels.

The Emmy’s were on last night?

I seem to remember seeing something about it last night in the burger joint — they had a flat screen TV up in the corner.

The fries were more interesting, so I could possibly have been mistaken.

Now that they have become highly political, I can imagine they are downright repulsive.

It was basically over the moment Marlon Brando turned over his Oscar acceptance speech to Sacheen Littlefeather in 1973. That started a process of virtue-signaling one-upmansship that has never ended, and will never end.

I took a look at the Hollywood Reporter this morning. I only read about the first 100 comments and all were highly negative about Colbert and the Emmy participants. Not one single positive.

Those watching and listening to the Packers vs Falcons game were treated to a disgracefull so called jazzy rendition of our national anthem that is going to become used as an example issue.

I love what Kellyanne Conway said today when asked about last night's Emmys. She said something along the lines of ‘they got all gussied up and didn't eat for 2 months to prepare, just to do what they did last night’. What she said was even better, but I can't remember word for word.
