Before I check the photos, I will just say that the last few years the crop of women have been downright homely. I kept thinking of all the more beautiful women I’ve seen just walking down the street. I don’t get what they are calling “beauty” today. Anybody who saw the Miss America’s of the 1960s will immediately understand exactly what I mean.
Now to the pictures and see if they are as homely this year as they’ve been the last decade or so.
I sense a trend here...
1, Iowa
2,New Jersey
Really quick scan, Iowa seems more centered and sure of herself than the others.
The big question. are they all airheads? Years and years ago I saw Miss Universe contest and was utterly amazed at Miss Russia, easily the most head-toe gorgeous woman I’ve ever seen, radiating incredible confidence -—plus, she was a surgeon. As I recall, she won.
Do we have any brain surgeons in our lineup?
yes it does, and most of them are rather delightful eye-candy to boot. LOL
Though this year (for me alone) Ms. Hawaii is the prettiest of the bunch.
I tried to look past all the airbrushing and makeup, and think I got a sense of most facial features, fairly well.
I’m not making any “political preferences” in a “favorites” list.
This is the approximately half that I at least liked.
AL, AZ, CO, DE, DC, HI, IL, ME, MD, MA, MS, MO, NJ, NY, ND, OH, OK, PA, SC, TX, UT, VA, WY
One picture I hated - Wisconsin. I at first thought the picture was of a “doll” - no, not a pretty girl, a doll; a man-made artificial something to look like a girl. Yes - bad picture of a real person I’m sure, but that was my first impression.

Caitlyn Jenner Conquers Her Fear of Swimsuits: See Her White-Hot Style
UsWeekly ^ | August 10, 2015 | Rachel Torgerson - Celebrity Style
White-hot! After admitting her insecurities about wearing a bathing suit, Caitlyn Jenner conquered her fear and rocked a sexy one-piece on the Aug. 9 episode of her E! reality series, I Am Cait.
For her swimsuit debut, Jenner opted for a white, one-shouldered monokini with intricate ties at the back. The former Olympian, 65, kept her hair in her blown-out, straight style and topped off the entire beachy look with a lace sarong and golden hoop earrings.
Rocking a swimsuit was a tall order for Jenner, who had only recently explained that swimwear makes her feel too "exposed." "Putting on a bathing suit represents a lot to me," she said in the most recent episode. "I'm about as nervous as can possibly be right now."
Just as bad as I expected.
Political correctness is how they rose through the ranks. It is not about physical beauty and inner charm anymore. It is about political correctness.
She reminds me of Famke Janssen...
80% of these women deserve a “participation trophy” at best.
Yes, outside of maybe 7 or 8, nothing but average women you’d see on the street.
Thanks a lot.
Excuse me while while I go puke.
Ouch! think i’m gonna be sick!
Wyoming, New Hampshire or Arizona.
Miss Maine looks like your typical girl next door...that’s my pick. Miss California looks nothing like your typical California girl...maybe in 1977, but not in 2017.
And about 10% of those, IMO, a dog biscuit and pat on the head.
