With Steve Bannon Gone, Donald Trump Risks Becoming Arnold Schwarzenegger 2.0
Breitbart ^ | August 18, 2017 | Joel B. Pollak

President Donald Trump’s decision to part ways with Steve Bannon can be understood as an effort to save his presidency after Charlottesville. It may turn out to be the beginning of the end for the Trump administration, the moment Donald Trump became Arnold Schwarzenegger.

...

Bannon was not just Trump’s master strategist, the man who turned a failing campaign around in August 2016 and led one of the most remarkable come-from-behind victories in political history. He was also the conservative spine of the administration. His infamous whiteboard in the West Wing listed the promises Trump had made to the voters, and he was determined to check as many of them off as possible. Steve Bannon personified the Trump agenda.

With Bannon gone, there is no guarantee that Trump will stick to the plan. That is why — too late, in retrospect — conservative leaders wrote to the president Friday to advise him that Bannon and campaign manager-turned-counselor Kellyanne Conway were too valuable to lose. Bannon had delivered for the movement, reportedly convincing President Trump to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accords, and to visit Israel on his first trip abroad.

So you are not an economic nationalist? Trump is. So was Bannon. Why do you support Trump?

And either his advice stinks, or he’s giving good advice framed poorly so Trump isn’t following it. Either way, he’s not doing well.

" I do not recall one Trump rally where Bannon was present. "

You didn't look hard enough.

Well then, I expect things in the WH to improve immediately based on that assertion.

Depends on how good his replacement is. Plus of course there’s still a bunch of bad hires in there.

Trump is going to ultimately need the backing of the US military to prosecute the seditious conspiracy and organized insurrection.

In recognizing how the end-game is going to play out, Trump is demonstrating foresight in jettisoning Bannon. This was a necessary sacrifice in order to commit & rely on the loyalty of the generals in his cabinet.

This is very good news; not bad news. It means Trump understands the forces arrayed against him and the American people. Political violence through the use of intimidation and domestic terrorism will not stop until it is met with superior force.

The US military will be the ultimate bulwark in restoring the rule of law and the return of constitutional rights & prerogatives.

I have to agree with your post. I’ve been perplexed by Steve Bannon fever for a while now. He suddenly popped on the scene last year in either October or November and I was told he was the Master of the Universe. No, I thought, Trump is.

President Trump did decry the removal of monuments this week.

Do you agree with him on that one?

There is plenty of evidence of a Goebbels campaign right here with posts to deflect and distract from a very bad move that sends the wrong signal to the grassroots.

I saw a post about a local school board member here in PA who was a Trump delegate to the GOP convention last year resigning under fire.

Other acts like people being fired from their jobs and websites being taken down by service providers, Pay Pal dropping groups etc. are underway.

The “civil war” including a “purge” of sorts appears to be underway with only one side on offense.

I just hope this wasn’t done to mollify the MSM. It will only embolden them.

Maybe this is part of a grand strategy.

I still support our President, but will be shaken if he doesn’t get the wall built.

It does seem, with all the firings, the leaks have subsided.

Pat Buchanan’s most recent column said there’s a civil war going on in this country and asked “Which side are you on?”.

I'm on Trump's side as long as he's on the Conservative's side.

Go Trump!!!

That is the take on this. They denied him a honeymoon. Denied his any respect. Have falsely reported every aspect of his Presidency. And have constantly called for his impeachment. They are no longer democrats or Rino’s living in a free democracy.

You don’t know what you are blathering about

Bannon turned in his resignation shortly after Kelly was made CoS. Note also that Bannon has made major missteps that did not help his cause at all

Everyone has to go through Kelly to see POTUS
