I watched last season, but it just wasn't the same.
Yes it is, they just don’t know it.
Too bad they killed off Curtis—I could have seen him becoming the main character.
No Jack Bauer, no 24....
I’ll call my cable company. I better not lose channel 24. There ain’t enough local channels as it is and that’s one of the better ones.
Perhaps this time they could hire real writers. Because the last one had a script that sounded like it was written by a couple of lilly white Slovakians who had never spent time in America, let alone knew any black people.
The show grew on my as it went along. I think you need to bring back SOME of the original cast. And don’t turn around and hire an actor that was on a clone (Homeland) just months before.
Last night, out of boredom, and not being able to find anything else, I started watching the first season of the original “24”. Still pretty good.
Keifer Sutherland is only 51 and certainly still able to continue as an action star. Lord if Bruce Willis and Stallone can do it, Sutherland can.
“24” is one of those shows, given the current political and military climate, could still do well.
This is one of those shining examples of the problem with the franchise model of entertainment. There’s really no reason why they can’t make a clock ticking spy show that is NOT 24. But the franchise model says if you have a “similar” property you need to retro-fit this idea you have kicking our to “fit” within that property. Often times those changes damage the story that was originally designed, and of course you often can’t get the original stars, and you have all of the baggage of people that didn’t like or got tired of that original property. Legacy probably would have been a better show, and better received, not named 24. Maybe a little “in the spirit of” in the advertising to reach that audience. Franchise addiction wounded it both in the making and the showing, and they insist on doing it some more.
Right. 24 was over as soon as Keifer left.
It wasn't so much the absence of Sutherland as it was the light-weight Hawkins trying to make believe he was of the same caliber as Bauer.
Also, the writing left much to be desired. I just do not care to watch TV/movies with heavy thuggery/gangs and drugs.

I dropped Designated Survivor when they had their gun-control theme in 2 consecutive episodes. It was just too much liberal agenda.
Never was a fan of the original but this sequel was unwatchable from the git-go for me. The reason I had for not watching is the same reason it was a failure from the start, a black guy in the lead role. This is why nobody wanted to watch it.
I thought one of the funniest things on 24 was when the evil President’s wife wanted to delay him.
The first lady pulls him into the bedroom and starts unbuttoning her blouse as the clock ticks away at 7:52:30.
The next scene shows the President zipping up his pants and leaving the bedroom. The clock is now at 7:54:40.
I want fox to pick up Last Man Standing
It made me feel better about urban gangs. The swat team was weak compared to the homeboys kicking terrorist ass.
MORE PUBLIC HOUSING 24 seasons!!!
No...24 Legacy failed because of despicable and constant reverse racism, portraying a U.S. Army vet as a traitor to terrorists, and putting a gay couple at the heart of CTU. I — a die-hard “24” fan who religiously watched every episode - was done after 4 episodes and never gave it a single thought thereafter.
24 BLM edition didn’t really work. Hard to tell the good guys from the bad.
By the way there is a version of “24” on in India.

Out of sheer boredom and lack of things I am interested in watching. I started binge watching the original “24”.
Without a doubt one of the best action type shows ever on TV.
One caveat though, and this was brought up numerous times during the original run, is the character of Jack Bauer’s daughter, Kim. She, along with Jack’s wife Terri in the first season, were two f the the most naive, and downright dumbest I ever seen, especially Kim. She was a total airhead.
Now I am watching season two and if we were going to have Black President, I would rather it was someone like the fictional David Palmer. Yes he was a Democrat and a Liberal, but he was head and shoulders better than Obama.
One interesting thing in season 2 is the emergence in the plot of a cabal trying to undermine and bring down Palmer, reminds me very much of what is going on now with the Deep State against Trump. Worth watching again.
