The NYC subway is an absolutely disgrace. Its present deteriorated condition, with nearly daily derailments and incidents, is the culmination of years of sweeping proper maintenance under the rug, using the funds necessary to do that for other things. In the case of DeBlASSio, millions of taxpayer dollars have been used to provide legal assistance to ILLEGAL CRIMINAL INVADERS--they even have a special section in the NY Daily News to let immigrants know about their "rights".

Undocumented immigrants are finding themselves arrested and detained. Don’t make it easy for ICE. Know your rights. IMMIGRANT RIGHTS: Don’t get ICE-d out — Know your basic rights

Immigrants and residents fearing Trump’s policies must continue asserting their rights

__________________________________________________________________________________

Millions of taxpayer dollars have been wasted on welfare and drug rehab fraud, on paying hotel owners--who purpose-built their hotels in areas no normal hotel would have been in--to use their "hotel" to house homeless (who flock in from parts all over to take advantage of the stupid "We must shelter all who claim they need it" NYC law), to pay multiple tiers of attorneys to harass veteran teachers to force them out so cheap unqualified newbies can be hired in their stead, to pay highly dubious "teaching coaches" (some even from Australia, like they understand our kids' cultural mores) to inform veteran teachers how to teach, on thousands upon thousands of dollars for laptops in classrooms which were promptly STOLEN, on providing welfare, food stamps, free education and medical care to ILLEGAL CRIMINAL INVADERS, on paying off the right people to make political hay, and even paying for his corruption charges' attorney fees. Is it any mystery why there is no money (so they say) to properly maintenance an extremely essential public transportation system? And, this year the city purportedly has a surplus of funds.

What do you think the wealthy will do when faced with yet another hitch in their taxes? They will leave, decreasing the tax base even further, and placing more and more of the tax burden on middle class households.

The chickens are finally coming home to roost as far as the NYC subway system, and the neglect of decades is so bad now, it can't be swept under the rug for the next administration any longer.

New York’s taxes have already chased away many good taxpayers. Rush Limbaugh is one who fled. Rush makes millions and now NY will get zero $$$ because they would not operate under a more humble and competitive tax percentage.

I actually have no problem with de Blasio’s idea since the people of NY, including the rich, are getting what they voted for. I hope it hurts.

I’ll take a foot long BMT on wheat, not toasted, lettuce, tomatoe, mustard, mayo, oil and vinegar, salt and pepper.

I don’t really care either.

Wall Street’s richest bankers and hedge funds are, ironically, part of the same crony-capitalist, statist, massive-debt, fiat-money centrally-planned Federal Reserve system that supports big government socialists like De Blasio.

The time rested response for all commies—blame it on the rich, they are the problem, they are not paying their fair share. Does that include you DeBozo, living safely behind walls in your gilded castle?

Maybe the dumbass will look across the state line and see how Connecticut lost revenues after raising taxes.

The uber-wealthy will simply relocate.....and take their wealth with them.

It would increase the city’s highest income tax rate by about 0.5 percent, to 4.4 percent from about 3.9 percent, for married couples with incomes above $1 million and individuals who make more than $500,000.

4% is what some states charge. This is on top of what NY state charges. Incredible.

[note. i am in Seattle - so i know stupid city councils and state senates]

The rich people are part of establishment and rely on deals from govt. They are part of the same group and attend the same political fund-raisers and parties. They is just a misleading deal - they will get more back in deals - especially the property owners and lawyers
