There's much more to Charm City than what you've seen on The Wire. Even as racial tensions make headlines in this famously blue-collar town on the Chesapeake, slick waterfront projects and farm-to-table dining have arrived along with a new, younger generation of residents set on building the place they want to live in. One native Marylander travels to the city he first knew as a kid to meet the doers and dreamers driving Baltimore's next act.

You’ve Gotta Be Shi***g Me.
I’ve never had trouble in Baltimore. I have friends there and we visit a couple of times a year. Of course, we don’t go to the hood and we don’t usually go at the height of summer either.
Spread the word... maybe all these nutty Californians will move there instead of Texas
This is purest fiction. I used to go to Baltimore several times a year; no more. The Inner Harbor and the National Aquarium are not worth your life.
Baltimore is #7 on the list of most dangerous cities in the US.
As a Native Baltimorean, there are areas of Baltimore that for those that travel are very nice to go, particularly the Harbor and Fells Point. However, there are areas right outside those that are not nice at all. It really depends on where you go.
Isn’t Baltimore the first city that let rioters riot and looters loot under the premise that they needed time and room to vent?
Like any large demonicRAT run city, I’m sure there’s a pocket of charm. That would be the neighborhoods where the politicians live.
The Progressive way to end urban decay: slick waterfront projects and farm-to-table dining.
Tear down the humanist facade and look to the Only Way to end urban decay: GOD, family, country.
Baltimore......
Isn’t that the place where the jail guards were having parties with the prisoners?

I wonder if this wasn’t a “sponsored” article.
I’d think “cool” would be reflected in people moving to Baltimore but if I’m not mistaken it’s depopulating and dysfunctional like all mid-Atlantic and northeastern Democrat stronghold cities. Baltimore is essentially a harbor front and museum tourist area surrounded by the hood.
Far better candidates as far as “cool” on the east coast would be: Asheville, NC, Nashville, TN, Charleston, SC and Wilmington, NC.
Some of the jail guards partied so hard that pregnancy resulted.
And then somehow inexplicably pleaded Not Guilty when they were charged.
Coolest city, eh? Maybe because its residents (legal and illegal) have the most bullet holes in them. Lots of extra ventilation, ya know.
Baltimore absolutely, positively, one hundred percent sucks! The entire city except for 1/2 block around the Inner Harbor is an entire ghetto. The whole city should be firebombed and pushed off into the Chesapeake Bay... including 50% of its residents.
