The nursery in Amy Fabbrini and Eric Ziegler's home is filled with unread children's books and unworn baby clothes. A Winnie the Pooh blanket lies untouched inside a crib where a child has never slept.
For nearly four years, the Redmond couple has been fighting to prove to the state of Oregon that they are intellectually capable of raising their children. The Department of Human Services has removed both of their boys, saying the parents are too mentally limited to be good parents.
Fabbrini, 31, and Ziegler, 38, lost custody of their older son, Christopher, shortly after he was born. Five months ago, the state took their second child, newborn Hunter, directly from the hospital. Both are now in foster care.
"I love kids, I was raised around kids, my mom was a preschool teacher for 20-plus years, and so I've always been around kids," Fabbrini said. "That's my passion. I love to do things with kids, and that's what I want to do in the future, something that has to do with kids."
No abuse or neglect has been found, but each parent has a degree of limited cognitive abilities. Rather than build a network of support around them, the state child welfare agency has moved to terminate the couple's parental rights and make the boys available for adoption.

Yes, her father just sounds like a very nasty guy. And I agree, they don’t seem so stupid from what they are quoted as saying, but who knows? A lot of pretty stupid people have kids though and a lot of very smart people are terrible parents. These people didn’t DO anything that was wrong. All the examples cited in story are just the purest of BS, the sunscreen thing for example, my own daughter and her hubby didn’t put ANY sunscreen on the kid the other day, each thought the other had done so and they are both college educated. There may or may not be issues with them, but between this and Charlie Gard it’s quite frightening.
Your studies don’t show what you claim
I know people who have been foster parents and they tell me that any child that has been in the system has been sexually abused.
100% guaranteed to have happened in that time frame.
The agency makes money off of every adoption. Always always follow the money. Even better here they get to act like true Nazis and pretend it’s in the child’s best interest. Exactly like the Nazis.

If too stupid to raise children, why aren’t they sterilized / on long term contraception they cannot screw up?
It’s not sick. The reality is that Oregon is run by liberals and adoption to homosexual parents is possible.
Once the state gets locked into their narrative they will not change. It becomes their truth and they cling to it with the fervor of the most devoted fanatic.
If these people had a different skin color, they would be awarding each of them a PhD. They are at the high end of IQ for a certain demographic.

It’s a sick world view to think every infant adopted will be subject to some sort of abuse.

I used to have a co-worker who said “Stupid people shouldn’t breed!” She stopped saying that after I asked who should get to decide who is stupid.

Not any more——it is many things,including placing kids with families——in other words,foster care.
