NBCs variety series Saturday Night Live, re- invigorated with its lampooning of President Donald Trump, and HBOs Westworld scored a leading 22 nominations Thursday for the 69th annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

Soon all the tv shows will have ratings like CNN. People watch tv mostly out of habit, there are other things they can do.
Ahhhhh.....
The Nerd Club all giving each other awards.
Ping.
It is quite a very good series, and well-earning so many.
I haven’t seen it. Maybe I should check it out.
You are more right than you know. I read and re-read the entire posting and was totally unfamiliar with every single person and program nominated for the awards.
I do indeed watching television, but I retain, as a constitutional right, complete control of my REMOTE.
I consider the remote my personal “censorship button”.
I’d suggest that they create a special award for bashing Trump and conservatives, but it would seem that all the categories benefit from Trump- and conservative-bashing.
Just an observation, we’ve come a long way from the days of the three networks dominating TV. I dont have Netflix or HBO so can’t watch some of these shows even if they are worth watching.
FWIW, I haven’t seen ANY of those TV shows. Absolutely no interest whatsoever. The last TV series I made an effort to watch was 24 (earlier this year). I’ll watch football, car shows, history channel and FOX news.
Personal preference is streaming movies, surfing web, and YouTube’s that suit my short attention span (mostly gun stuff).
Oh and there’s this other diversion of mine - reading. There’s these things called ‘books’. One is actually messaging from God, it’s called ‘The Bible’. And then there’s everything else that takes you to new worlds, introduces you to life stories, make you laugh, teaches you things, and sometimes makes you a little better off in this world.
Other more enjoyable activities:
Being stuck in traffic
Shopping the day before a major holiday or snowstorm
Getting the eye poof test at the eye doctor
I have not watched any “entertainment” shows on television probably for over twenty years. What a I watch is news and documentaries such as History Channel, National Geographic and others. I find nothing entertaining in todays “entertainment”.
The left wing echo chamber pats itself on the back!
Excellent list. May I suggest additions:
Arranging the sock drawer by color, pattern, inches of rise on calf and date of last use (LIFO recommended for a consistent level of wear).
Careful review of your car’s owner’s manual to ensure absolute compliance with the 30, 60, 90,000 mile recommended service periods.
Personally responding to all junk mail in writing. Look, they took the time to personally invite you to the Summer Sizzler promotion- and the great opportunity for get a great deal on a brand new Buick. You really kind of owe them a response for their act of kindness.
Yup
Boy it’s been like 30 years since we viewed SNL - it just got real boring people on it year after year. Just dropped it off all together and have never missed one darn thing. The people on it are the disgusting.
