One thing the media should have learned from the 2016 campaign season is that reporters really need to hit the road and do more shoe-leather journalism — get in the car and drive to places like downtown Arkansas and talk with the people who live there.
ABC News chief political analyst Matthew Dowd recently had a conversation with a Navy SEAL, and what he learned from that one talk was pretty shocking.

The nearly 2,500 Navy Seals are stationed in 2 locations—east and west coast...
According to WARCOM there are 2,450 active duty SEALs at this time. These are split between Teams 1,3,5 and 7 on the west coast at Coronado, CA and Teams 2,4,8 and 10 on the east coast at Little Creek, VA. There is also Navy Special Warfare Development Group or DEVGRU ( SEAL Team 6 ) at Dam Neck on the east coast.
Sooo we are to believe that Matt Dowd of NYT and ABC just happened to have a discussion with a Seal who happened to be in TX for some reason and this seal just happened to know the hearts and minds of nearly 2500 seals?
