One thing the media should have learned from the 2016 campaign season is that reporters really need to hit the road and do more shoe-leather journalism — get in the car and drive to places like downtown Arkansas and talk with the people who live there.
ABC News chief political analyst Matthew Dowd recently had a conversation with a Navy SEAL, and what he learned from that one talk was pretty shocking.

It must be noted that a surprising number of “Republican” consultants like Dowd guided the party during the Bush years and are now the loudest critics of Trump on the “news” stations - they are always the token “conservatives” or “Republicans” such as Stuart Stevens, Nicole Wallace, Dowd, that Schmitt character, Mike Murphy. No wonder the Republican Party came to stand for nothing in the Bush years and at best, was Democrat-lite.

I have a client who is a fairly recent special forces retiree who has severe PTSD to the point of having dangerous flashbacks. I merely mentioned what another special forces Staff Sargent told me, “It was very frustrating in 2008 when Obama changed the rules of engagement and you couldn’t return fire when shot at.” (This is when the suicide rate in the military doubled)...
My client flipped out hysterically challenging the statement that I knew was very true. He was so brainwashed. He was so irrational. Here was a guy who spent many years in tough combat situations, but yet he was an extreme liberal fanatic. Best I could figure it was a result of TBI. Or... maybe he was possessed!!!
Simple logic and the law of averages tells you this is impossible. You won’t find that many people in full agreement on ANYTHING.
