Warner Bros. said to develop Michael Brown movie

Warner Bros. is developing a movie about Michael Brown's death, according to a Hollywood trade publication.

The studio has acquired the rights to the memoir written by Lezley McSpadden, Brown’s mother, according to Tracking Board. The memoir is titled “Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil.”

Difference between acquiring rights and truly developing a film is significant.

Studios "acquire rights" to lots of stories so that they have the right to make a movie later.

I will be surprised if they make a flick out of this of any import.

This b.s. will continue until their shareholders put their foot down and tell the studios to quit paying millions to make vanity projects with zero box office.

Hollywood lost tens or hundreds of millions of dollars cranking out anti-Iraq and Afghanistan war movies. Then a movie that honored an American sniper was a gigantic hit, making a ton of money. And it taught Hollywood *nothing*.
