What is the prevailing sentiment on the effect of the shooting of Congressman Scalise on the Tuesday Special Election in Georgia?
1. No Effect
2. Sympathy vote for Handel and backlash against Democrat Ossoff.
3. Helps people to turn to the Republican candidate out of disgust for the Democrats
4. Help for Democrat Ossoff. [I personally find this very unlikely, but I could be wrong...]
This is not meant to be scientific, just what the sentiments of Freepers might be.
Certainly, the dirty trick of sending a package with WHITE SUBSTANCE inside probably is making this a dirty race as well as instances at the polling places.
And a question: Is the AJC taking sides in this race and what side other local media might be taking.
I used to live in Atlanta (Sandy Springs/Dunwoody), so I am curious about this race.
Finally, after the Scalise shooting, a liberal overnight broadcaster for ABC commented how with the Democrats winning the baseball game, the Democrats FINALLY won something. I was kind of surprised by that.
I hope some of the vicious nonsense will start to end.
President Donald Trump is playing MAJOR LEAGUE HARDBALL to help make America great again, and I am definitely on his bandwagon. Certainly, his team is charged with errors at times.
But the WITCH HUNTS need to end.
“Vote for us or else we’ll burn your house down”
I live close to the 6th district but not in it, sort of like John Ossoff. I have been thinking this might just be the catalyst to put her over the top. The latest poll has him up about 1.5%, well within the margin of error. Still too close to call.
Sympathy vote, no. Sanity vote, yes. Republicans should realize that liberalism is a mental disorder that believes the means justifies the end. They must be stopped and what better way than to continue to beat them in the voting booth?
There is a big difference. When Democrats win, they govern and get their package approved. When Republicans win, Democrats guide the governing and will not allow the GOP to get their package approved. So why bother to vote Republican? I have no answer to that question. (Although I have never voted for a Democrat for President, Governor or Congress.)
Good question but Go Handel! anyway.
Another thing to note about this election. That will mean the most expensive Presidential campaign and the most expensive Congressional campaign in spending by Dems and they both lose. That should give big donors pause for thought.
I am too. I live the in the district next door and it seems to me that the Handel camp and the national republicans are not “putting their all” in this.
Nearly every day since Price went to HHS, we have been inundated with Ossoff commercials & until the last few weeks, I didn’t hear any Handle ads. Ossoff even ran ads during Hannity’s radio show.
I see a lot more Ossoff signs, which indicates that he has a much better ground game. I think she should have had more national support from the House and republicans. It seems like they didn’t take him serious enough.
If Handel uses the Democrat driven terrorism in a Willie Horton-like ad she will win. I doubt she will and instead I expect her to join Ryan in singing Kumbaya.
I used to live in Dunwoody. I would love to go back.
I fear Handel not driving Trump’s agenda is hurting her. She issimply go along get along but still, better than Ossoff.
R’s need big turnout on Tuesday. Weather may be a factor with 40% chance of thunderstorms. Think traffic, people tired and say what the hell.
Karen Handel may not be the “Wonder Woman” Republican, Conservative we would like, but...she is a good, decent, dedicated, Republican, woman, and she deserves our massive support and all of our votes. She is the powerful vehicle to bring down the entire Democrat “Hate America” Party, politically!!! You should just not vote for her...YOU MUST VOTE FOR HER......Ms. KAREN HANDEL!!! Get out and vote for Karen Handel On election day, June 20th, 2017 in the Georgia, 6th CD Special Congressional Election!!! Go Karen Handel & Go, POTUS, Donald J. Trump!!! MAGA!!!
Winner!
Well, if the Rats die, the Rs will probably split into nationalists and globalists.
And that’s a good thing.
Never underestimate the power of the Donks to step in it. I call it the Wellstone funeral syndrome. Then again the GOP has the same probllem from time to time.
When I hear and see Handel I’m reminded of Bob Michel.
The ajc is hopelessly liberal.
It all depends.
How many voters is Soros busing in?
Stupid question. Anger maybe but not likely. Truth is most people have already voted
The GOP deserves to lose. Their cowardice has been disgraceful. The problem is that they will interpret their loss as a referendum on Trump and then double-down on their spinelessness and obstruction.
True. Plus, the Dems will celebrate it as a great victory and turning point for their agenda, while the press will proclaim that it is a sign of how unpopular Trump is and how the people are beginning to reject his agenda at the ballot box. For these reasons alone, everyone in the district needs to get out and vote for Handel.
