A Kansas man who robbed a bank last September and told police that he was hoping to get caught so he would get prison time to escape his wife was sentenced Tuesday to six months of home confinement after pleading guilty, the Kansas City Star reported.

Multiple times as a divorce lawyer of over 30 years, it would take at least 30 minutes and some deep questioning before I could get a guy to admit he had been abused. Both husband and wife have what they have to hit with. Sadly the wife often uses the kids.

Late in life the wife is often physically stronger than the husband. Sometimes old men get beat up by their wives but you rarely hear about it.

People are quick to have a laugh with this story, but rarely discussed is the most likely reason he felt this way.
Mr. Ripple has had recent heart surgery, and since then, has been prone to periods of depression. He was undiagnosed with this condition when he robbed the bank. Thus, he was not being medicated for depression.
Mr. Ripple is now on the appropriate medication and says he feels like his old self again. I have often heard that certain surgical procedures, such as heart surgery, can change a person’s personality dramatically, even after the initial recovery time.
He is a Bank Robber.

Ripple handed a note to a bank teller in Kansas City demanding cash and warning he had a gun. Ripple took the money, $2,924, and went to sit in the lobby, where he told a guard he was the guy he was looking for.
He really did want to get caught.
