A few days back, Microsoft accidentally pushed out builds from their internal branches to both PC and mobile. The mobile build bricked a number of devices. Microsoft later posted an explanation on what really happened and how to recover the bricked devices. A MDL forum member has now spotted three new Windows 10 SKUs in the released Windows 10 Build 16212 pkeyconfig. The following are the three new Windows 10 versions revealed through this build,

Looks like Microsoft has now found reasons to release some more versions of Windows 10 in addition to the above. We believe the new versions are targeted towards Education and Enterprise users. Windows 10 Pro for Advanced PCs was previously believed to be called Windows 10 Pro for Workstations and will presumably have licensing and optimisations targetted to these powerful multi-core PCs with masses of RAM and petabyte hard drives.
The N editions of Windows are targeted at European Union countries and allow users to choose their own media player and software required to manage and play CDs, DVDs, and other digital media files.
Windows Server 2016 ServerRdsh would target servers used as Remote Desktop Session Host. Good advice. Here's another perspective on it, though.
After 1/14/2020, all but one of my Windows 7 instances will be VMs (virtual machines), backed up automatically as simple file images, and if anything happens to one of them, all that's needed is a simple file copy to restore to any prior state.
The one copy that remains "on the metal" is my Win7 laptop, which is imaged regularly and can be restored from bare metal in about an hour.
I would never install Win10 on metal. VMs only.
Thanks. I like Win7 so much that when the Linux distro, Zorin, came out and worked so well and operates very close to Win7 that I had to make the switch but I can still boot into Win7 if something comes up. So far it hasn’t been an issue and I can access all my files in Windows and even run Windows programs through the “Mint” emulator.
Pretty sure there was less of a learning curve going to Zorin than going to Win10 but since I never did; I can’t say for sure.
In a previous life I was a MS certified tech. It seems like MS did its best to make things far more complicated than they needed to be therefor keeping a need for further and advanced Windows education.

Perhaps. Even more likely, though -- Microsoft will declare Win7 haram. WinXP is already haram.

After a short run with CP/M on a PIED PIPER in the beginning I was with MSDOS and stupidly stuck with Microsoft until a month ago. Windows X was the straw that broke the camels back.
I began a search for a LINUX distribution that would meet my needs, first trying LINUX MINT on a ten year old Toshiba A-135 laptop running Win Vista. Worked great! So great in fact I installed it on a HP Pavilion with 8 GB, then a dual boot setup with Win X on an ASUS X551MAV with 4 GB, the intent was to keep Windows X until my files were converted to Libreoffice formats. I dumped the idea since I still had an additional Pavilion running Win Vista with MS Office installed. The ASUS, Toshiba and Windows 7 Pavilion were running like new machines.
Investigating further I stumbled across a report covering LINUX LITE. Supposedly built to attract Windows users and incorporating a graphical user interface to the degree Windows users would nearly notice no difficulty in a changeover and daily use situation. The transition was a breeze to complete. All three computers are running like new and updates take fewer than three minutes to complete from start to finish when needed. I have had absolutely no, I repeat, no hardware recognition difficulties with LINUX LITE or LINUX MINT on any of the machines I have installed them on. Peripherals were identified and all function as intended. USB sticks and portable hard drives were recognized after insertion and files were available for use. Living large in LINUX land.
A little Terminal work was required here and there but for the most part anyone who has dealt with DOS and possesses two functioning brain cells can manage the transition. Hey, if a mud Marine can do it what reasonable explanation could anyone else offer for a failure to launch LINUX?
One more computer to transition. The wife’s Dell. C’mon Microsoft! Charge a subscription fee and push her over the edge!
Windows and Microsoft are dead to me now.
Sorry to have bored you dayglored but I needed to take this opportunity to get this out to the average home user. A hearty thank you very much to all of the FR LINUX supporters out there who played a role in convincing me to dump Microsoft!
Not bored at all! Linux is a great OS and environment to work in. My work office workstation is CentOS Linux, love it.
Because that’s what Microsoft said themselves.

IMHO, there is no need for more than 4 versions of Windows.
1. Home
2. Embedded (think point of sale, kiosks etc.)
3. business
4. Tablet/phone
Instead of education version, just offer discounts on business licenses for schools, etc. simple.
No, it’s just irritating to have to learn the new commands and sequences to do what I used to know how to do. I think the irritation factor grows without bound as you age.

That’s not a racial annotation... if I’m not mistaken, N refers to the absence of default software features such as Internet Explorer satisfying an EU judgment against Microsoft from years ago.
#3 should be split into workstation, server, and industrial.
Microsoft is turning into McDonald’s, with so many choices it’s confusing.
I guess that is how they building vakue but, they need to become “In & Out Burgers” with just a few choices.
Synchronization across devices, it that’s important to you. If you have/use only one computer, then there’s no advantage.
