“I really enjoyed the Dick Van Dyke show. I also liked the Andy Griffith show.”
I taped all the DVD shows 30 some years ago. My idea of pure class in comedy. Both shows still have millions of followers.

I agree.
I also think that was sort of the persona of the character. He was a fast thinking/talking conman capitalizing on an opportunity that popped up in front of him.
He wasn’t a Magnum PI type of character, the rugged guy unafraid to get effectively/physical when called for.
I know this will sound strange, but it may grow on you as you think about it.
I would submit that he was what Barnie Fife would have been with good looks and a brain. He was a nothing burger, that could flip a situation to his/Laura’s advantage by sheer logic.

Great idea.
Most of these shows can still be accessed online.
That is very cool.
Laura was an absolute doll in those days.

You weren’t alone.
It’s interesting how our appreciation of women is developed. I suspect Mary Tyler Moore impacted the psyches of many a man during her run on TV.

Yes, a real That Guy.
“Esteban Vihaio”: Could be the code name for a certain real life “ladies man” that some of us know of.

My all time favorite was Father Guido Sarducci——especially when he was doing his “Find the Pope in the Pizza” contest.
Absolutely side-splitting comedy.

Yes, his skits were excellent.
It was light hearten fun and I found nothing overly offensive about it.

Efrem’s reading of the Bible is still one of my favorites to listen to. Such a pleasant voice.
