OAK PARK HEIGHTS, Minn. (WCCO) It sounds like a scene out of a horror movie: A Minnesota mom and her kids unsuspectingly move into a house full of snakes.
While it may sound hard to believe, its the frightening reality for a family left with few options after buying what they once considered the perfect home.
Like a couple of crime scene investigators, they treat the property like a puzzle, piecing together a homeowners worst nightmare. Typically, youll find them along the siding, one pest control worker from Adams Pest Control said.

snake ping
Irrational fear of snakes.
If she doesn’t want snakes she should just get a couple of cats.
My schnauzer mix is hell on snakes and lizards
It would make for a pretty bad movie. Or they could just keep the place clean so there's no rodents, and the snakes would move out. I wouldn't see the snakes as a big deal, except that you would want to clean the place up. [Note: In accordance with FR tradition, I did not read the article.]

I had a rat terrier who went ballistic hunting snakes, even copperheads. That little dog was fearless.
95 snakes. that is not irrational fear of snakes. that is snake infestation.

I'd encourage you to click over. The comments to the article are at least as entertaining as reading FR.
Garter snakes near a wetland. The snakes are secondary. The house has serious structural problems that makes it a snake den.
We have a ratter.
He is a GREAT dog with a GREAT personality. Very protective, especially of females and babies.
Also fearless. Not only does he destroy rodents but he even goes after coyotes.
We worried about him the first few times he did this, but he’s been doing it for years, now.
Good grief,it’s not like there’s an infinite number of snakes in the house.Just do a through search and get rid of them.
Get cats, five or six tabbys will clean out the snakes in a summer.
I was going to say, small dog. I have had two small dogs that are obsessive about it.
First one taught our baby basset girl about them. Next year I think she rubbed every snake I had in the back yard to death. Little dog had passed on suddenly, so it was up to her.
Got another little dog, she has shown him what to do. They already have one dead snake to their credit this spring, and hassled another one through the fence the other day. And I shushed one out of the yard before they found it recently.
I watched an “Infested” episode where a house had a snake den within its foundation; there didn’t seem to be any way of getting rid of them. They were garters IIRC, but they were everywhere - and created a horrible stink. The home was eventually abandoned.
Couldn’t this have been detected during a house inspection when buying the house?
They only inspect certain things, we discovered that when we downsized to a 12 yr old starter house, plenty big enough for 2 seniors. No sofit vents, which was found when we had windows upgraded, IDIOT didn’t catch the broken dishwasher handle, or the stove drawer glued down with enough grease it’d fail a restaurant inspection, no egress to the tub to fix broken pipes, a broken faucet that never got replaced, when we pointed it out, or the fact water ran from the neighbor’s into our yard, from ours to the next. Rotted retaining wall, light switches in backwards. More to long to list.
We have copper heads rattlers, black snakes, moles, and now armadillos. None of that was exposed by the inspector or the 2 realtors. Being semi rural you expect some of it, but not all of it.
Check with your potential neighbors for issues with the area.
If I found that many snakes in my house I’d be GONE and the house burned down! My Morkie will attack a snake or dig up moles. But a 10 lb dog is no match for a copperhead or rattler.
We moved out of a huge house in crime infested Memphis, to get away from problems all we’ve had is problems that don’t come under the original buyers warranty.
