No wall, no travel ban, sanctuary cities fully funded, and planned parenthood funded as well. I’m pretty sure that’s NOT what we voted for.

Where is Trump the fighter? Where did he go?

Considering the Vast Armada of opposition he’s got a tough road to hoe.

I hope he doesn’t turn into another Schwarzenegger just adding nasty signing statements.

He is behaving exactly as I predicted.

First and foremost, he’s a New Yorker. I came in swinging back in 2015, talking about “The Art of the Deal”, saying that it would explain him perfectly.

Have you read it yet ?

Trump is never going to be Coolidge. But Trump gave us Gorsich and that’s all he had to do. There may be another one or two positions opening up soon too.

This guy is not our messiah. He’s way better than Clinton though. The rest is up to us.

Put the pressure on the localities to get these musloid invaders off US soil. Put the screws to everyone to clean up their act.

One question no one here wants to even think about;
“Which GOP should be on the short list to Primary Trump in 2020, should this pace of non-change continue?”
Personally, I hope it doesn’t become necessary.

Some fights can’t be won. This is the challenge of his presidency, a challenge created by his candidacy. He was very much a bull in the China shop for his run, he belittled a lot of people in Congress, he made a lot of enemies. And now he has to figure out how to get legislation through a Congress with no allies. Sure he could veto, but they’d probably find the votes to override. Until he finds some allies in Congress he’s going to have a hard time with anything that’s not an executive order.

John Koskinen is STILL the Commissioner of the IRS believe it or not. The same Obama appointee who ran the agency while Lois Lerner was targeting conservative groups.

This is not what we voted for at all. Koskinen should have been fired on Day One.

And...it looks like Janet Yellen’s job is secure.

What happened to drain the swamp?

Its politics now. The election wave is over.

I dont know how much more obvious it could be that its Trump against the Establishment. The Republicans continue to give away every victory. My government is broken.

One hive swarmed last week and bolstered my faith that God is still in control. The other capped some honey off the dandelion flow and ,WOW, it tastes like a Yuge stick of butter on a stick dipped in honey!

He could pull it out with a veto, but I’m afraid this is his “Read my lips. No new taxes!” moment. Put a fork in him, he’s done. He’s a complete rube in the big city.

If you recall....Those matters are in or going to wind up in the courts.

Why do you insist everything should be done already. It's ridiculous.

He is fighting, but it’s in the trenches now.

He’s President. Not king. The problem is the Republicans betraying us entirely first and foremost and the courts exceeding their authority.

He is a Republican President. He can’t make total enemies of his own party too. Yes, we wish he could on days like this, but he can’t. WE have to clean up the party through elections and recalls as much as humanly possible. Only then can the President exert pressure on the party itself. As long as we have uniparty hacks in congress willing to pass budgets like this one we will never get anywhere. They didn’t break the law and we can’t put them all in jail but they surely didn’t represent the will of their constituents in the slightest. Washington just corrupts everything it touches. Term limits would have been a godsend right now. We wouldn’t be dealing with an entire army of lifelong entrenched powerbrokers on the hill.

I think Trump has bought in to the Ryan/Preibus narrative that this is a win since first year Presidents operate under the previous administration’s fiscal budget, in this instance a continuing resolution and not a full term budget, until it expires in October and that it repeals the one for one rule re: defense vs. domestic spending. But, in reality, it is a missed opportunity to press his agenda early on and convince people that he is serious while maintaing his momentum. This is another legislative opportunity squandered just like the Obamacare debacle and gives hope to Dems and GOPe that he can be stopped since they’ve done it twice now.

Old story: George Washington showed up at a Senate Meeting looking for "advise and consent" for a Treaty. Knox was with him to explain the Treaty.

The Senate said...whoa Mr. President. We haven't even read it.

Washington was livid. Here's a Treaty. It needs your consent. Period.

When the Senate wouldn't even discuss the matter, Washington said...."Then why am I here?" And Washington left in disgust.

End Game: The Senate is neither wise nor kind. It has an attitude problem. And that's the way it is and they need an occasional kick in the arse. Eventually, Schumer will get his...bigtime. I'd say he's on the way out.

Where is Trump the fighter? Where did he go?

______________________________________________

You want him to fight a battle he cannot win? A battle that will only cost him more of what little political clout he has left in DC?

After losing on TrumpCare - you want him to double down and lose even bigger on this stopgap budget bill?

What’s the matter with you? You hate Trump that much? You want to see the Rats, Repugs and the MSM dine on his carcass?

There’s a time and a place to take a stand. Now ain’t it.

>We’re told it will get dealt with in October. Oh Really? why not now?

Because in October he gets to pass a full budget. More room to wheel and deal to get the filibusterer removed.

I'm seeing a disturbing resemblance to 1969, when, with Left in disarray after losing the White House in November and the departure of liberal Associate Justice Abe Fortas from the Supreme Court in disgrace following a scandal, conservatives were eager for newly-elected President Nixon to embrace a conservative agenda. Instead, he "punted on first down," on conservative issues and pushed for a guaranteed annual income, increased funding for food stamps, "affirmative action," Project FIND, designed to increase the welfare rolls by finding eligible recipients, etc.

But it's still too early to tell, and judging from his speech the other night, Trump remains committed to a conservative agenda.

Man up Trump.

Shut the damn thing down and make congress squirm.
Make the reporters go insane.

And make the base that elected you support you even more.

This was 2017 Obama’s and Congress that was not passed. It takes 60 for to pass a Trump budget in the Senate, Dems would not let that pass.
They got what they could.
