A man was killed when he fell into the water carrying an electric fishing rod he had invented himself.
Kamal Siada, 41, was using the makeshift rod to catch fish in a drainage ditch in the Malaysian city of Sandakan last night.
But he fell into the stream in the Kg Mangkalinau squatter camp and was electrocuted.

My guess is that he was probably ‘catching fish’ by electrocuting them with his ‘invention,’ which was probably nothing more than a metal rod connected to an electric source, and then collecting the fish when they floated to the surface. Not very bright.
